All I did to my Jayco today was think about it. Today is what, the 3rd official day of winter, and I'm already starting to itch. The more I learn about my TT from you folks of the JOF, the more I want to camp. This self-proclaimed winter person is already excited about the 2013 camping season. Happy Camping!!

Today I vaccumed my Z. Wiped down the counter top, stove and vent. Put clean bedding on the table bed and said good bye until Friday...I hope.

Chipper! I also cleaned the roof today; just finished! I have the Dicor, but not sure if the front end of the tt will be completely dry (that part is in the shade all day). So I will apply the dicor tomorrow.

While I was on the roof, DH was cleaning the sides! Maybe we'll get it waxed this week too

I cleaned it early in the day. It was 28F at daylight & clear. Needless to say, it was cold in the water mist. I waited 'till after lunch to climb on the roof. The sun dried it off quickly.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna try to build an outside tv mount(removable). I'll try to remember to take a few pics while doing that.

I gave her a quick vacuuming, poured boiling water down the kitchen sink, then antifreeze. Told her goodbye and hope to see her on Friday.

Yesterday I got fed up with the stock mattress that came with my TT and tossed it in the dumpster here at the LTVA. The springs in the middle area were getting squashed down, and I could feel them through the material. I've tried putting my 4 inch thick topper on top of the mattress but I sink in too far.

So last night I slept on the 4 inch thick memory foam/hd foam mattress topper that I bought, placed directly on the plywood. Wasn't too bad, and actually didn't hurt as bad this morning as I have sleeping on the Jayco backbreaker mattress. I think if I get another 2 or three inches of hd foam or memory foam, it'll be Jusssst Righttttt!

Oh, and today I gave my new batteries a 100% charge, then equalized them for a few hours to stir up the electrolyte. They are still at 12.8 volts since unhooking my remote 40amp charger over 6 hours ago.

I am running my Designer on generator power right now for my monthly run under load. I missed doing it on the 1st and 2nd because it was pouring down rain. Yeah, I know it wouldn't matter that it was raining, but I just didn't do it, but it is running now and will be for the next 55 minutes or so.

I keep telling myself it is this monthly run under load and stabilizer in the gas that keeps this unit ready to go at all times. So far the plan is working so I'm going to continue. I want it to work when I need it.

Today's chores:
Checked the crank assembly on the Fantastic Vent fan I installed in the bath a couple years ago. The outside cover seems to have been getting looser and sloppier lately. I removed the crank assembly and disassembled it as far as I could. Found some wear in the pot metal casting, so nothing I can do but get a replacement crank assy.

Also removed both the lavatory and kitchen sink drain traps and cleaned them out and sanitized them in clorox water. I noticed the lavatory drain was starting to stink, so I got that problem fixed. No stink now. Definitely a NASTY JOB, but a good thing to do for preventative maintenance!

I removed a 2 inch memory foam mattress topper from under my mattress (yeah, I put it underneath) so I can take it back to Wallyworld. Much of the topper didn't expand fully, so I'm getting my moolah back. I put the lower bunk mattress under the queen mattress for now, and it seems to work well. Feels good right now anyway.

Sat down (a couple days ago) and worked out an estimate on the number of amp hours I'm pulling from my batteries. From what I figured, I use about 80-90 AHs a day.

Packed up and drove it from Imperial Dam LTVA to Quartzsite LTVA. Also bought a digital thermostat to replace the faulty Coleman Mach thermostat in my TT. I woke up the AM and the temp inside was 51 degrees! The thermostat was on, but didn't kick on the furnace. My usual fix- I gave it a slap with my fingers and it kicked on. Hopefully it won't do it tonight. I will replace it tomorrow.

Replaced the Coleman Mach thermostat with a Honeywell programmable digital thermostat. Cost only $20 at Lowes. This thread was just what I needed to do the install.

Finished what I started yesterday...

This weekend I installed a Fastway Flip extension on my tongue jack. The trailer sits so high, that I nearly max out the jack every time I unhitch. Then, I upgraded to a detachable shore power cord. The existing cord had to go into a box that was 17"x17"x19" under the bathroom vanity. I had a hard time getting it back in on a 72 degree afternoon! I could barely get it out a couple of weeks ago when it was in the mid 40's. So, I ripped that all out, installed a hard wired surge protector, and the new outlet. This took WAY too long because of how small a space there is to work in, but it came out good.

I finished the weekend by installing a new 110v outlet in the front cargo compartment and then plugged in some LED light strips from Ikea in there and in the rear compartment.

The only down side is that now, after spending all that time in the trailer, I REALLY WANT TO GO CAMPING!!!!

... towed it home from storage. ... inserted ammeter in battery charge line (temporary) to measure DC amp draw. (I will make a separate post about that in Tech Talk later.) ... replaced battery and propane tanks. ... opened windows and turned on bathroom vent fan. There is fresh, dry air circulating in my 17z for the first time in a couple of months.

Then all worked stopped. My neighbor, who got a new-to-him 2011 Keystone Hornet on New years Day, showed up and we talked about trailers and camping for 45 minutes. So if you see me out there this year, and I'm a little behind schedule, that's why.

Just curious, how many amps can your ammeter handle? Mine can take 10 amps, and the Progressive Dynamics charges at up to 45 amps. The fuse in your meter might have blown.

On to what I did today... I went shopping in Quartzsite and found an identical replacement lens (red) for one of the marker lights on the side of my TT. Mounted it and it was loose, so I put a dab of silicone caulk at the top and bottom of the lens to lightly glue it in place. I'm going to head to QZ again and buy another replacement of each red and yellow lenses to add to my maint/repair kit. Never know when the wind (or a dishonest TT owner) will take one off.

After a lot of rain and some snow, hobbled out and opened up the door. Went inside to check for leaks - none found. Very little moisture captured in the hanging bag traps. Battery at full charge, all tanks still reading empty. Found two dead flies. Ignored same. Closed up and went back to warm fire in house. Took long nap.
