re: What Did You Do To Your RV TODAY?

Pulled out the awning (to clean) and am currently sitting under it in "Camp Driveway".

Due to the sudden onset of sunshine and warm temps..we opened the slide, installed some new "toys" that we bought last week at an RV show, sat inside and just soaked up the new camper smell (we have not yet camped in this brand new 2013 camper). Our first reservations are made for 2nd and 3rd weekend in May. I can tell you that we will be out before that.

Installed a new 5th wheel lube plate, checked for unwanted tenants (still haven't had any), noticed that my State registration and safety sticker are about to expire. Doing a bunch of little things before taking it out and dewinterizing and washing it in a couple weeks.

Well over the last couple of days I de-winterized/flushed lines, removed vent covers/cleaned & touched up the roof with Dicor, and cleaned/flushed holding tanks. Next a good washing and maybe wax

Added a third set of stabilizer jacks just in front of the tires. It made a big difference in the stability of the trailer. I wish I had done this earlier. I got the idea from a member here, I forget who posted it,but thanks to this forum for the great ideas on here.

it broke into the 30s this weekend so took it out camping. a liitle on the cool side at night @14 degrees but had a very nice fire. burned a lot of wood scraps from working in the shop during the winter. got home and gave it a good wash and going through. ready to go for the whole year now. got the tent trailer out of the back yard and re-installed the battery and it is almost set to go also. I have built a bicycle carrier/ cargo rack for the rear of the trailer. I now need to get a 3 foot peice of 2" reciever stock and weld it to the frame. i bought a cargo rack on sale for 39.00 and some bicycle mod kits from a local automovtive store then I got out the angle grinder and started a few modifications. I will post a pic once I have completed this project.

Saturday we check on our new 17Z which is currently stored inside a heated storage facility. Can't wait to get her out of storage next month. Sunday we went to our Seasonal Site and checked on our 308 RETS. We had a minor mouse problem a few months ago, but so far so good! No signs of any critters (fingers crossed).

Had a chance to chat with the campground owners and catch up with them for a bit.

All in All - We are getting excited to start the camping season. 4 Trips already planned and paid for with the 17Z and the seasonal site looks great. Should be a great summer!

This past weekend, I bought a new air compressor to handle the 80 PSI in the tires, and I bought everything I needed to wash/treat the roof. Didn't get around to it, but I'll hopefully get it done tonight. Also, in the plans are to wash and wax the whole rig.

Question for all you gelcoat vets... I have a 36REQS with full paint, and it looks like it's going to take me 17.5 years to hand wax this beast. Is there a favorite wax or technique you like to use. Should I wax the sides of the slideouts? I won't use a rotary tool because I fear of burning the coat and/or paint. Any help would be appreciated.

I also installed some sticky hooks in the shower for each of my girls' bath scrubbies to hang on. And I bought some local fake flowers to drape over the bedroom slide and in the wine rack. I will post pics soon.

Today I removed and cleaned the burner tubes on the range and the water heater, then adjusted the vent tube on the water heater burner to get a nice, blue flame. Also dropped the awning and dried it to remove the rain water from yesterday's shower to prevent mildew growth. Also doing battery maintenance today, running my charger on equalize mode to stir the electrolyte up.

I made a cup of coffee and took a shower. I haven't opened the door or even turned on the tv yet.
