Our dealer installed a 12V deep cycle battery from US Battery, a year later I'm very happy with it:

Got the bug to start heading farther north, so I got everything packed away for travel inside the TT, loaded crap into the truck and hooked it up. Drove into town, dumped tanks, filled a 5 gal fresh water jug, filled up the truck, gen tank, and my emergency 5 gal tank with gas. Drove a few miles south of Moab to Spanish Valley and got my home parked in a new free camp area I found today. It's a big paved area, just north of Ken's Lake.

I'll be ready to pull out first thing tomorrow morning. Destination- Salt Lake City. I'll figure out where I'm stopping for the night when I get there.

Edd, my strings have broken so often that now I just use white nylon Mason's string. I get a spool of a couple hundred feet of the stuff for a few of bucks at Home Depot. It works just as well as the "proper" string, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

Rain starting here right now, but you can keep the frozen stuff. 64 degrees at the moment.

LOL! Weird thing, I'm 500 miles north of where I was then, and it's warmer here.

I hit the road from Spanish Valley, UT (south of Moab) this morning at 5AM. Planned to stop in Salt Lake City for the night, but it's too darned hectic in that big, long valley. Kept driving until I passed Twin Falls, ID. I'm parked for the night at Walmart, in Jerome, ID. Twelve hours and 527 miles later.

Northern Utah has some incredible scenery. The reef area on I-70 is magnificent. Worked the truck on the drive, hitting passes at around 8000 feet a couple times. Lots of ups and downs, actually. Even drove though some falling snow, and there was still quite a bit of snow on the ground (and in the mountains) along the way.

And yes, I used my emergency flashers SEVERAL times! No diesel, you know.

I got a little nervous when the snow was falling. Thermometer on the truck showed that it was just above freezing outside, and I sure didn't want to drive over an ice patch. I didn't, so the day ended well.

Haven't had a beer since early January. After today's drive, I decided it was time to slip over the side of the wagon. Bought ONE can of beer to relax. One of those big-ass Foster's Lagers!

Tomorrow's destination- my (part-time) home, WA state. Probably end up in Kennewick, but might go on to Yakima. I know of a few free camping spots along the river on HWY 12, to the east of White Pass.

Installed my $4 dollar dimmer and wireless remote for my LED awning lights. Best $4 bucks I've ever spent!

Got my 3 Max Air vent covers in the mail today. Unfortunately my Jayco is at the dealer getting the remaining fixes and bunk slide motor replaced. Don't know when I'll be able to put them on yet.

Dan,
Sorry to hear you having issues with your NP. Knock on wood, we haven't had anything big. Yet.

Can you post a link to your dimmer?

We were through Salt Lake City last fall and I agree with you. We stayed at a nice Utah State campground just north of Ogden - Willard Bay.

Very close to passing you in the opposite direction - started loading the trailer today for what we call the "mad dash" - 2 days from Seattle to Lake Mead. We stop half-way at Three Island Crossing State park just east of Mountain Home, ID. With regular breaks along the way it's about 11 hours per day which for the occasional "let's just get there" trip isn't bad.

It is the first day of the month and as usual my generator is running for it's monthly hour. During this period I'm running a load of laundry (partial run since the Splendide takes longer than an hour), drinking coffee, watching TV and enjoying the power from the Onan. 333.4 hours and counting.

Dropped it off at the dealer to have the off-door slide repaired. Slide worked fine several times, but started binding up last weekend. Opened it back up to re-synch the motors, but then it wouldn't move again at all. Ended up having to pull the motors and close manually - hope I never have to do that again, that sucker is heavy - to get it to the dealer.

I remember passing by the Three Island Crossing State park sign on my drive yesterday. Ended up making it to Yakima yesterday by 4PM (gained an hour passing into the Pacific Time Zone). Bought a WA State Discover Pass, filled the fresh water tanks, and found a spot to camp on HWY 12, on the Tieton River. I was able to park so that the trailer is perfectly level without unhooking from the truck. Not sure how long I'll be here, but when it's time to go, I'm ready.

Ordered a TST 507 repeater for my TPMS. I occasionally lose signals.

Lubracated every hinge in and around the TT and all the window cranks and side arms plus the 4 jacks and slide out rails and fold out steps. Too bad I can't lube my joints and get the same results.

Completed the FIRST mod on our new 377RLBH today, by adding a second spare to the rear bumper. Over the years, I've had three trailer blow-outs, and two of them took out both tires on one side. I now travel with two trailer spares; the factory spare underneath, and the extra one on a rear bumper bracket.
