Air returns (there are two) are on each side in the kitchen - probably a 5 x 12 opening in the ceiling and roughly 6 foot apart.

I'm sure there is a 14 x 14 hole in the roof - under the AC unit, but there is NOT a 14 x 14 hole anywhere inside the RV other than the bathroom fan opening. lol Being a 5th wheel, there is "attic space" between the inside ceiling and the actual roof layer.. enough that there's ducting up there to get the ac vents to the front bedroom, kitchen, rear bathroom, and just outside the rear bunks.

Bed rail clearance is right at 8inches now.

Up here in the Northeast, I've been to more than my fair share of campgrounds that many would consider "offroad"...and that 8 inches become scary close when traversing uneven ground with a 5th wheel connection that is free to articulate fully in the x and y axis.

Had a mobile RV tech out to replace the furnace sail switch that crapped out the first night of our recent trip. It was a little pricey, but well worth not having to hitch up and take it to a dealer who probably would mess up something else in the process. He also fixed a nagging leak at my water pump outlet and I got to pepper him with questions for 90 minutes. If you ever need a mobile tech in the Northern California area, I highly recommend Einstein’s Mobile RV!

Welcome to the forums!

Don't complicate the solar. Put up as many panels as you can afford or will fit, then buy as much battery as will fit.

Personal experience is with Renogy. Have 220 watts on the tt, 40 watts on the gate have had two previous tt with Renogy, never a problem.

I’m considering picking up a inexpensive, no name, brand, and trying it out in my landscape lighting. I’ve only used Renogy but I read so many positive reviews with much less expensive panels.

If I add any more panels to my roof, they will be Renogy. That’s one area I just can’t see taking any shortcuts.

Oil Filters

Changed the oil this weekend, and had to restock on filters. Great deal on Motorcraft filters on Amazon, just FYI...

Sold it. We're trailerless at the moment. We're looking at some options but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Unfortunately, Jayco isn't one of them - but I plan to stick around the forum, I like it here!

Definitely stick around — your input is valued! And let us know what you end up purchasing.

Awesome, let us know what you went with when you do get back into it, if I had it to do over again I would go Jayco either.

Thanks! We looking to go "light and tight". Length of 26 feet give or take (our Jayco was 38 feet). That will allow us to get into more places more easily, and I can park it at the house rather than paying storage (a big plus).

The front runner right now is the Intech Terra Oasis. It checks a lot of boxes for us. I wish it was a little more "four seasons" capable. Other possibilities include a Rockwood Mini Lite 2506 and a Black Series HQ21 (absolute overkill, though I've heard the quality has slipped recently).

Its been fun looking at all of these. Given the state of things lately, we're taking our time on deciding.

Are you dead set against a smaller Jayco? Is it the quality issue? For the price (and despite a handful of fixes), we’ve been pretty happy with our 212 QBW which just happens to be 26 feet .

No, not dead set. We keep looking and thinking on it. I'll go check out the smaller Jayco's again.

We, as a couple, love our 212QB as its easy to tow, has adequate tank capacities, great AC with the addition of the soft start and the E-trailer generator. ROKU TV with the Verizon Jet Pac. Husky straight line TS (correctly configured) works great. We go to places to explore not hang in the trailer!

You will not regret going to a smaller trailer. At least we haven't. Our little Feather is dead on #5500 and 26.5' hitch to spare tire. It fits almost anywhere, easy to tow, easy to park at home, etc.
