Packed up, dumped the tanks, removed the city water hose, topped off the air in the tires, and hooked the TT up to the pickup.
Will be leaving the Northwest rain and heading south tomorrow towards the Arizona sunshine. I had been planning to stay up here through the winter, but after three days of rain, I came to my senses. Quartzsite, here I come!

Moved it around back to it's usual spot after the wind storm that wasn't - at least where I am. While sheltering the TT a bit seemed prudent given the predictions I inadvertently caused myself another headache. I did not level the unit from side to side - was only a temporary spot for a day until the storm passed. Unfortunately the lean to the right was just enough to allow rain to run into the furnace vent on the left side of the trailer and down onto the power converter/electrical box which is right below the furnace.
So before hooking back up to shore power again I had to pull the power converter/electrical box out and soak up the standing water. Fortunately there wasn't much of that. Then I ran the furnace for about 30 minutes to get it dried out, and finally ran the 12v fan for a few hours to circulate air back into the cabinet behind the converter box and make sure everything was dried out good before re-assembling.
I also discovered after pulling out the converter box that when it was originally installed the sheet of thin plywood it was mounted to was split next to one of the mounting screws. So I had to fix that before I could re-install the converter box.

Pulled it from Puyallup, WA to the Suncrest rest area on I-5, between Medford and Ashland, OR yesterday (425 miles). Today I made 560 miles, to the Buttonwillow rest area, just west of Bakersfield. Tomorrow will be a short day -- 400 miles -- through Bakersfield, Barstow, Needles and Parker, before making it to Quartzsite.

Added one more slat to the removable under-bed storage divider I put in last year. This brings the divider up to a point where it now provides support for the middle of the queen bed. While we haven't noticed an issue with this sagging like some others have detailed, after adding the slat I could easily see where the middle of the bed was indeed sagging. So previously unknown problem solved....

I was a little busy with my new 28 BHBE....I removed the one shelf in the medicine cabinet and added replaced with two new shelves. I made a towel rack and mounted it in the bathroom to hold eight bath towels. I made my own stove top cover to increase usable space on the counter. I mounted the 6" PVC outdoor carpet holder. Installed insect screens on all the vents openings. Installed a shelf in the wardrobes in the front bedroom.

[QUOTE=DrtEmaxChvy;458878]Thanks.
"Found one on Amazon for 290.00
5/5 stars with 3 reviews lol
Aqua-shed type. There were ones WAY more expensive but I figure I'll hit the roof with the wash and UV protectant, fill in the micro cracks with do-core, wash and wax and wax again then throw the cover on. Prolly take a whole day but I'll post some pics when it comes in and is installed. "
Sounds like a good price. You'll be happy in the spring when it's uncovered, and ready to go, all spiffy.
Yesterday, the tire covers went on, bed was made up, got a thorough vacuuming, and stuff that would freeze came in the house. Still have to get some antifreeze.

Pulled it yesterday the rest of the way to Quartzsite. Started driving at 2:30 AM, so I decided that driving all the way down to LA and taking I-210 around the north end of the city to I-10 would be the way to go. Figured that that early in the morning traffic wouldn't be bad. There was no congestion on the highway because traffic was all going the opposite direction toward their jobs. Still, it was kind of stressful towing at 55 mph while everyone else was going faster. Made it to QZ around 11 AM and got things set up.
Truck pulled pretty well, but a 2500 would've been better. Averaged a little over 10 mpg for the entire 1385 mile trip.

Finally, a one-day break in the rain so I was able to get the trailer dried off, blow the leaves and pine needles off the roof and put the cover on..

Just returned from our maiden voyage today. It was to the Herkimer KoA for my son's Boy Scout Geology Camporee. It was crazy windy and rainy, but he did it. He slept in a tent for Friday and part of Sat, but due to severe weather, he got to sleep in our new unit too!!!!

Tied my awning down to the ground with a couple of ratcheting straps. Sure takes the shake out when the wind blows.

Took out that nasty plywood in the dinette seats and replaced it with something more respectable.

Had it inspected for state registration renewal, then brought it home and unhooked it. Ran out of energy for literally anything else. Yesterday was a rough day. Vacation is coming soon to fix all that though!
