What did you learn today!

No matter how old we are, we are always learning. How about sharing something in a nutshell that you learned today that was previously unknown to you.

I'll start off, and I had to think about this cause it's early.

I learned that I can not get interested in reading a book called EVE by Wm. Paul Young. I am half way thru it and it is boring and uninteresting. Today it goes back to the library.

I learned that an ant lion (or doodlebug) is the larval form of an lacewing insect. Who knew?

I learned that you shouldn't leave batteries in when not using the item they power, and how safely store them - bought storage boxes and a meter so we will always have charged ones at our finger-tips. Easy-peasy!

I learned that a 6" chicken teriyaki sub from Subway only has 4.5gms of fat [without cheese]. Been putting on a few extra lbs this Holiday Season.

I learned that the man who sings, "You're a mean one, Mr Grinch" is also the voice of the original Tony the Tiger of Frosted Flakes fame. His name is Thurl Ravenscrof. I never made the connection before, but it makes perfect sense after hearing the story on the radio.

I learned that switching to two 6 volt golf cart batteries is definitely worth the cost.

I learned that California has some of the best IPAs ever and as I'm typing this( like right now) I just took a big sip for Smoker Bill! I'm in Bodega Bay for 12 days and enjoying every minute of it.

Learned that stove burner bushings can melt and cause issues. In all my years of doing this I never had that happen. Kind of scares you when you see flames under the stove top. $0.99 part can cause quite a problem. I keep spares now.

Where did you get the spares, John?

Luckily local place had them.

Description: Wedgewood Burner Sleeve
P/N: 40-0869

These fit the Atwood Wedgewood Vision stove, but I'm sure they'd fit others.

A quick Google search for "Atwood burner sleeve 40-0869" brings it up pretty quick online, and a little cheaper.

I learned that the dealership won't just replace the residential fridge door with a dent in it. Apparently a whole new fridge has to be ordered! Luckily it's under warranty and isn't costing me anything, but what a waste! This this the last thing I'm waiting on to complete our warranty repair list. I was told that the fridge should come in next Wednesday or Thursday....we shall see!

Thanks John. That's my stove also.
