What have you lost or found while camping?

Over the years of camping I have found and lost many things. This thread is to identify if I am the only one.
On the present trip we are camped in Waynesville, NC. When I arrived here last Sunday my rubber door mat was no longer in the bed of my truck.

On the positive side, we were hiking once and I found a like new Leatherman knife.

Well Northy1 you are not the only one loosing a rubber door mat (smile!).
I usual do the last check and always lay the mat inside the TT. While camping for 6 days at Haynes Point - Osoyoos, BC at Easter this year I must have been distracted.
So 125 km down the road I noticed the missing mat so went to the store and got another nicer one. My routine is to always check the campsite after I am pulled out.......not this time.

I have found probably 4 double Y's left on the water spigot, a vinyl coated, steel cable dog line, various black water adapters(handled like nuclear waste and sanitized with bleach asap), tent pegs, straps, nothing of any real value. Once when camping at KOA in Virginia enroute home I deviated from my normal breakdown procedure, got distracted and left about $30.00 worth of brass quick connects and a Y attached to the spigot. Didn't notice until the next night.

I have left and found many quick connects but am way ahead cause I find them way more often.

2 years ago while headed to the campground in a heavy crosswind, I lost my blue Jayco spare tire cover.....found it in a cotton field just off the highway on the way back home but lost it again the very next trip. Never seen it again after that.

Yeah, I did a double-take the first time I heard that term, too, and I'm from the midwest. A lot of folks here call the game "bags" or "bean hole."

I made my own ladderball goals from PVC pipe and the throwing balls from golf balls and nylon rope. Laughed the first time someone called it "Hillbilly Golf." LOL!

I have lost and I have found a trusty hunting knife. You see, my father and I went on an elk hunt in Eastern Nevada back in 2000. We did a lot of walking and we were both successful in tagging out. I have a habit that I have practiced since around 1997. I habitually mark the spot I shoot from with a GPS and then I mark the spot of the kill with the GPS. This gives me an accurate distance for the shot. Plus I found the department of fish and game really appreciates the accuracy of the hunt.
Anyway, as we field dressed the my Elk (my father had his two days earlier) and quartered it, tying a quarter onto a pack frame, my Dad stuck my trusty Buck 110 into the tree we were by; this way I would step on it or accidentally bury it while shuffling around. Four trips to the truck and back (parked 2 miles away), and we headed back to camp. Put everything away, loaded up and headed home the next morning. That's when we realized we had left my knife stuck in the tree. Oh well, I wrote it off and figured I would never see it again.
Fast forward to 2007. We were back in the same area for another Elk hunt/deer hunt. We found ourselves camped in the same place. Just for the S&G's of it I pulled out my notebook/mapbook and entered the Lat and Long into the GPS. Two days later, we were close to the area and took a purposeful detour. There in the tree, several inches higher than we remember, was the Buck 110. Surprisingly, it didn't look that bad, except we couldn't get the locking mechanism to release to fold the blade. Got back to camp, a pair of pliers and some WD-40 and a little steel wool, and it cleaned up nice, works great and is good as new.

I was breaking down camp when a storm began to form, I had been fishing and still had to load the kayaks, in the rush of things I loaded up the kayaks and left a really nice fly rod packed away in its case sitting right there on the dock, by the time I realized I had forget it, I was nearly home. Hope someone put it to good use

I also found a water regulator (it didn't allow water to pass through). You pay return shipping and its yours.

I guess I am lucky.. so far I have not lost anything.. except for having a sewer hose stolen while stopped for coffee once.. at one campsite I did find a black and pink bra.. would not have minded seeing where that came from LOL (remember I am single so I can think those thoughts LOL)
