Same here. We stopped carrying a grill years ago. We've perfected cooking on a tripod. Lay two pieces of wood parallel to each other about 6 inches apart. Lay a bed of charcoal in the middle, soak with charcoal fluid. Cross a couple more pieces of wood across the top and light it. Ready in about 10 minutes and provides nice even heat. After your done eating you just keep feeding the fire with wood for your evening fire. I wouldn't have it any other way.

LOL -- ít doesn't seem ridiculous untill I actually list them all out. Problem is I can't really pair it down because they all fit a specific purpose.

What is ridiculous is the hundreds of pounds of charcoal I have stacked up in the shed. Every year, Memorial Day and Labor Day, both Home Depot and Lowes have a blow out sale on kingsford so I stock up.

I must be doing something wrong. We have a Coleman road trip and really like it. It was a Christmas gift. We have the griddle and a few other accessories. I don't hook to the RV propane.
I grill burgers, chicken, steak etc with the lid down with no problem.
I put water in the bottom like it is designed for or line it with foil and clean up is a breeze.
As far as the grates, I will let it burn off to clean them. Sometimes I wad up a ball of aluminum foil and go over them to get anything that is caked on thick. As far as lighting, I don't lift anything. I turn on the gas and push the igniter button.
I know there are several different models. Perhaps we have 2 different ones.

That only works if you aren't under a fire ban. We are typically under fire bans from shortly after Memorial Day weekend. We would save a lot of money on food, but we would get pretty hungry...

I have to agree that this grill is somewhat of a pain in the a$$ at times and I'll also agree that there are better styles out there.

Same here. Bought mine around 1990 to use around the house for just the two of us. This is the older model with the wood handle and round wire legs. Have replaced the grates twice. It now serves me at the campground. I store it in a medium size pop up waste basket.

Also have an Olympian gas table top grill but don't use it except for fire ban days.

After much investigating and research I ended up buying the Webber Q220 and man is this a great BBQ. Love it more than my Webber Genesis home BBQ. I have adapted mine to run off the RV and will eventually adapt the regulator with a quick connect if I ever want to go "portable" again.

Costco: $99 and change.

I have this exact grill from Costco, I bought a hose to fit the quick connect from the trailer

We use an electric griddle for breakfast and a combination of factory supplied grill/dutch oven/open fire. When we started out tent camping, we didn't eat anything that didn't come off the fire, times have changed a little. many want to knock the BBQ (or whatever name) grill that many Jaycos come with, we like ours. It is fairly light weight, stores easy and can cook at hot dog in just minutes. I may not put it on the level of some of the others, but for what it is, we find ours very effective.

It's very easy to adapt your BBQ to run off your RV propane all you have to do is remove the regulator and bracket off of your Webber BBQ. You will need a 1/4" male quick connect fitting to put in it's place, a 10' propane line with male and female quick connects and your all set. I have adapted mine and my brothers Webbers and both work extremely well. I bought the neccesarry parts off Amazon and the total cost was $33. I had also used propane grade sealant on the quick connect threads that attach to the BBQ.

Either the fire ring at the campground or make my own on the beach and we have the whole west coast for that. Most of the time I use drift wood for it's forever plentiful.

ill need to make a connection on the camper as well as i dont think it has a quick connect anywhere but the stove is on the side i would want it on so making a splice shouldnt be a big deal
