A shiny red toy truck, that my older brother had wrapped in several rolls of t-paper before the Christmas wrapping paper. It kept me busy for a very long time, but I remember it to this day.

Not sure which was first
a purple stuffed snake or
the metal clown that flipped when you pushed button or
the monkey with cymbals.

Hard to remember the older Christmas presents.

The one that stands out is the erector set.

Man, Guys! We are REALLY showing our age here! Lol!
So I'll join ya... mine was an electric Lionel 027 gauge train set when I was 2 or maybe 3, I'd have to ask mom.

I played with it so much when I was little somehow the throttle needle on the transformer broke. So it got put away and didnt resurface until a good 10 years later. My brother and I combined that set with another set we got for Xmas and used it so much over the years we basically burned up the loco's. We got into our early 20's, had a little bit of money and decided to revive it again. A couple years later life happened and he was moving out of state and I was moving on so we split up what we had but kept things going.
I had a really nice layout mostly completed and decided one day to make it bigger, rework a lot of stuff and expand my rolling stock and power.
It's a work in progress trainwreck right now, no pun intended. Lol!

A lump of coal, I believe.

No, seriously i think it was a wooden Flexible Flyer-type sled — it got a lot of use in those Montana winters!

I remember having a set of those and making a catapult out of the green wooden slats to launch my sister's Barbie Dolls across the room.

I remember creeping down the stairs with my brother one year, I could not have been 5 not more then 6 and seeing a huge bunch of presents by the fireplace. I can't remember anything after that except opening them the next morning and getting a doll. I remember seeing gifts from photos that were tea sets, lite brights and my brother got an astronaut helmet. That was 1969 the year of the moon landing. O and a bozo the clown doll. I can't remember what happened to that doll but I do remember giving it a hair cut. My brother still has to this date his bozo the clown T shirt. I told him to frame it. I wonder if he did. But for the most part I can remember Xmas to about age 5 and then remembering the pics. This year we are just being lounge lizard. No presents, no tree, no decorating no nothing. Everyone is on their own this year. I have 10 days off and plan to do absolutely nothing. Even though this house is a mess I might spend one day cleaning. Good luck with that one. Happy holidays everyone.
