First one I drove was a 1968 Chevrolet Belair 4 door. First one I bought, was a 1967 Chevrolet 1/2 it had a 327 and rare CST package with A/C. We added power steering before I bought it from my dad.

A "baby Corvette" if you will.

73 and up 350 pickup motor made a factory 195 hp. The 454 was around 225. Smog motors. Electronic fuel injection of today made a huge hp improvement.

Keep em' don't sell them-

All this talk about SBC's and First cars got me itching to get it out a little early this year... Nothing's like rinsing all the winter dust off in the spring and going for a ride...

1949 Ford 2d coupe, black. My high school car in 1960. Me and my Dad overhauled the engine.

I replaced the grill with one from a 1950 Pontiac which was the most common 1st mod back then for the California look!

1956 Oldsmobile 88 2-door hardtop. Some good times!

Not a security question problem for me. I simply pick any question and the answer is always Elvis. Not really but I know someone who does do that.

1976 Chevy Caprice (aka The Boat). Had a blown engine and neighbor gave it to me because he just wanted it gone from his driveway - didn't care what I did with it. Spent $250 on a motor from a local junkyard, beat on the car for about six-months, then sold it for $600 when I left home for basic training.

My dad and I always worked on cars together. I was 14 and we were in a Junkyard picking parts for a project when a wrecked 1967 Firebird was towed in. I told my dad I liked that car. He worked out a deal and bought it. We had it towed home and I paid him $10 per week to repay him. I also saved every penny I could to buy parts. We worked on that car for 2 years straight and shortly after my 16th birthday it was a driver!!

To this day I have no idea if I ever paid him what he paid for the car but I will never let go of the memories and excitement of building that car with him and at least thinking I paid for it. Only regret is I have no pictures...

As a kid my dad had 2 of these a 45 and a 46. At age 12 this is what I learned to drive up in Northern MN. By the time I was 16 getting my lisence was a breeze. My mom hated riding in them as we usually headed off road with no notice. Lol

exactly my situation. I was 10 and my Dad got the Jeep from a salvage yard and I helped him fix it up and we made 1 jeep out of 2. He taught me how to drive it in the field pulling a disc harrow behind his plow. Never stopped driving since. Was raised in south central Missouri.

We were an Opel family for awhile.
My first car was a '75 Opel Sportwagen. Or "Shport-vagun" as they say.
My brother had GTs and Mantas.

It hurt our soul when GM used Isuzu for their next batch of "Opels" in the late 70's.
