My understanding is that they never expire.

S & H Green Stamps wanna really feel old?

I still have about 4 books of them plus a few books of the blue (chip) stamps. I always bought camping stuff with them at the old store on Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim, CA. NOW, THATS OLD. HEHEHE

Yup, S&H Green stamps & Blue Chip stamps. I remember the grocery store had a dispenser machine, with 2 big dials. They looked like a telephone dial (if you remember the stamps, you remember the telephone dial LOL) One of the dials dispensed the large blue stamps (I think they were 4 stamp equivalent) & the other dispensed single stamps.

S&H, Gold Bond, Top Value and IGA had Top Value stamps. Banks gave out toasters, gas stations offered glassware, wrist watches with a fill.

Today's $20 baseball caps were mostly give-aways. I can't believe the prices we pay for crap that used to be free.

Wow, A blast from the past Rodro, I'm 62 I lived with my Grandmother between the ages of 5 and 10 I believe. I can remember her getting the green stamps from the old A&P supermarket. I would study the catalog intently and dream of what I was gonna buy next when "we" had enough stamps. We would take the bus over to Troy, NY. to the redemption center and I would be in all my glory. One of my favorite items were slot cars. Jeez thanks for stirring up a fond memory.

Before I joined the Air Force, I bowled a lot at the local lanes. Every Friday night, the lanes would load colored pins in the rack and you "won" S and H Green Stamps if you got a strike. I was a pretty fair bowler so my Mom would pay for me to bowl and I would bring home up to 3 and a half books for her. Brings back some good memories with Mom who is no longer with us. How times have changed!!

Yep, I still have a few of them somewhere - along with a collection of old gas station maps and keychains, which used to be free.

My mom used to get them at the grocery store. She would give them to me and I would lick them and stick them in the book. When I collected enough I bought a baseball glove. I was 12. I still have that glove 50 years later.
