Hopefully they offer up some good deals like last year. Verizon sent me an offer to trade in my iphone5 and give me $200 for it, and they sold me the iPhone 6s for $200, that was zero out of pocket I could not pass up.

I am month to month with Verizon now and they're bombarding me with upgrade offer e-mails, offering me 300 dollars trade in allowance for my S4's ( 2 lines) toward purchase of a new phone. Sounded great until I looked at the fine print. The phones eligible for the the 300 buck trade in DO NOT include the Galaxy S4 and the offer only applies to a handful of phones like I Phone 6 or Galaxy S7. No thanks.....................

Not to mention the S7 is so 'hot' it may catch fire while charging.............

I have to update my choice! After seeing that the iPhone 7 was going to cost the same as the 6S and Verizon is giving me 400.00 to trade in my 5S (which reduces the price considerably) I have ordered the 128 GB Jet Black 7!!

We pre-ordered the 7's (black and rose gold). Sprint was giving a deal if you either leased or did the buy the phone with payments instead of the 2yr contract you got the 256g for the 128g price.plus a $10 discount per month for being a loyal customer.

Now we aren't "locked in" for 2yrs and cab buy the 10th anniversary model which will be awesome (if you believe the rumors!!! Lol).

I like what Fairphone is trying to do, but you won't get 4G service in the united states.

Huawei is a Chinese owned sweatshop, so I'm not convinced they are any better than Apple. Just my 2 cents...

And since most of us travel a lot, the network you are on is more important than the phone. If I can't get the phone on my network of choice, that's a total deal breaker.

Ditto on the never I phone user. Can't understand the movement that will spend $$$$$$$ on a stupid phone that may or may not do a lot of new stuff that is mostly unnecessary cr*p. Can text on my dumb phone and of course make and receive calls. For the rest I use a tablet. I have no social media friends.

If someone tried to take my iPad air away from me, I'd have a serious problem. It beats every android tablet I've ever owned by a wide margin... build quality, etc. I've owned dozens of them as my company builds software that I have to support on mobile devices. The social media aspect is moot... all modern devices give you the same experience there. Apple really has a good package... and as long as you don't need to crack into it and upgrade something - you're golden... unfortunately that is also a deal breaker for me in my own personal world, and so other than my iPad, I'm not on the Apple bandwagon at all. Replacing batteries and upgrading memory shouldn't require a brand new device or hundreds of dollars. Most mobile device users upgrade every 3 to 4 years regardless of which 'kool-aid' they are into.

I have never owned an iPhone and have no plans to do so, but I can't bash their products either. They have a solid reputation. Android devices just meet more of my requirements.

I do many things with my iPhone including 4 email accounts. I pay bills, watch my bank accounts, the list goes on. I like how my apple cloud shares all my photos and documents that I can access on either of my 2 iPads and my Apple TV. For now, my 5s does everything I want. Nothing earth shattering with the new 7 IMO. So I'll wait and see what's next.

Samsung is the better choice for campers. In a pinch you can use it to start camp fires.

Will you be buying the iPhone 7?

I am happy with my iPhone 6s but Verizon has a deal where you can trade any of the 4 iPhone 6 models for an iPhone 7 for free. My 6s is only 16gb and the 7 is 32gb so I'm really just trading because I can get more memory for free.

If it wasn't free I would be keeping my 6s.

The reason for no more 3.5mm headphone jack was two fold: to allow the phone case to be as thin as possible, and the second reason was to encourage us all to purchase the Bluetooth stereo earbuds.

It's actually compelling to me... I absolutely hate having to snake wires out my coat into my ears.

I've tried Bluetooth ear pods before, but the left ear and right ear were tethered together to send power from one to the other.

The new apple wireless ear pods are truly wireless.

Not sure if my 5s could actually connect to them. I'm a Sprint user, and they no longer subsidize phones. I need to either purchase outright, or lease from them.

We use Sprint as well but usually get a better deal from Costco, either in store or online at;

Costco Wireless - Big Savings on Cell Phones - Offering Plans from Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint..

No iPhone for me. While I do have an iPad Air, it is the wifi-only model. For making calls, my seven year old Samsung clamshell still works great. Heck, it even has its original battery.
