Coleman stove propane conversion

I've just re-read Bob Landry's excellent sticky (as well as every other post I could find) on converting high pressure stoves to run off the camper's external low pressure connection,

As I suspected, there may be no simple way to do this with my Coleman other than cutting off the stove's regulator and clamping a hose to the now-bare pipe that runs to the campers quick-connect (admittedly, not a great solution).

I'm not interested in running a hose off the house tanks; I want to be able to use the camper's external quick-connect.

Anybody have an alternate solution?

Here is the stove I have.

Many thankees.

This question comes up a lot.

If you're handy, you can make your own adapter. If you're not so handy, or don't feel like doing it yourself, look for the Torjik Converta-C kit, aka "Coleman Roadtrip RV Quick-Connect Conversion Kit", at torjik.com. It's been out a couple of years now, and it's available through all kinds of online sources. Heck, even Coleman is selling it last I heard.

Good luck!

Roger

Where is the regulator on that unit? on the bottom or is that it on the connector for the bottle?

I looked into it. You should just have to remove the stainless connection from the brass connection - if you look at it, slide the piece that is screwed on with your finger back toward the stainless part. The inner brass piece has is hexagon shape for a wrench. Put the stainless part in a vise and use a wrench to remove the brass pieces. I can't tell you what the size of the threads are, but it is probably like my coleman grill. I used these from amazon to make the picture below. I suggest you get the last part from amazon when you order and then you can make a second part so you can use the small bottles (if you need) - see my second picture.

According to the parts list it's that small black knob-looking thing right above the tank.

Thanks, Nuny, I'll look at that as well.

Thanks, all, for your input!

Just get a hose that goes into the quick -connect and screw in into where the bottle goes. I got one for my weber and the only thing that happens is that the weber does not get to 600 degrees but gets to 500 degrees.
