I hear ya. We mostly do restaurants on travel days. But if you notice, about half of my list are in Maine. And that means LOBSTAH!

Genovese Fine Italian Restaurant, Prescott, AZ. I frequently drive up to Prescott from the Phoenix area to eat there. I recommend their Seafood Diavolo.
Gurley Street Grill, Prescott, AZ. I recommend their Beef Stroganov.
Plaza Bonita, Prescott, AZ. Good Mexican food, generous portions.
Flying M Restaurant, Panguitch, UT. Good Fish and Chips and spaghetti.
Don Pedro's Family Restaurant, Evanston, WY. Good Mexican Food
Suds Brothers Brewery, Evanston, WY.
Serranos Mexican Food, Tempe and Mesa area, AZ. Good Mexican Food. I hit one of their restaurants every a week.
Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ, various locations in CA, AZ, and NV. I recommend the Jambalaya.
Black Bart's Steakhouse, Flagstaff, AZ. Fair food but the wait staff puts on a good floor and stage show.

We haven't been to Dixie Crossroads in years, but it sounds (from gs's experience) it's still got good rock shrimp! May have to try it again.
On long road trips I usually get whatever food Pilot or TJ has going, as I like to keep moving.

I'm the same, once I leave to head wherever it is I'm goin I don't like to stop. If I could refuel while driving like the military does flying I would do that.
And as for the shrimp or any other shrimp, I'll never know now. Gout has either cut or severly limited a lot of good food I can eat

I forgot to mention the best pizza I've ever had is from a little place in Escondido, CA in the Von's shopping center just west of the I-15 called Killer Pizza from Mars. Despite the silly name and the corny décor, the pizza is excellent. They have a store in Oceanside but I never ate there. The management at the Escondido store bends over backwards to ensure you will want to return.
The best subs I ever had are from Two Brothers from Italy in Oceanside, CA. They have a second location in San Marcos but their subs are not as good (they tend to be greasy).

Another vote for Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, Missouri.
Good country cooking and plenty of parking space for RV's.....it's an experience and I can guarantee if you leave hungry it's definitely your fault .

I am from Madison.
Don't take your rig to Westbrook or Madison.. Can't vouch for New Haven

I just remembered one.
Lone Cabbage Fish Camp in Cocoa Fl. Used to stop by there on our way home from fishing the coast. It's been a long while but I can recall a mighty fine fried platter with the works and oysters on the half shell

Jay I see you're in RI...I'll be in Coventry, RI (don't know if it's close to you) next week for some training. If you're familiar with the area, do you have any recommendations? Especially for some good seafood!

Not much in Coventry, kind of the "Farmland" of RI. There is a popular place called Dan's Place, not really a seafood place, more of a local place with good food.
Depending on how far you want to travel there are plenty of options for good food in RI, you just have to head to the coast if you want the best seafood. Keep in mind, you can get from one end of the state to the other in 45 minutes.
- Matunuk Oyster Bar in South Kingstown is great, a little more upscale
- Iggy's Doughboy's in Narragansett is awesome, very casual
Down my way near the southwestern corner are a few options;
- Haversham in Westerly, good bar scene, great food
- Two Little Fish in Misquamicut, clam and fish "shack" right at the beach
- Sea Goose in Westerly, more upscale seafood dining
- Shore Dinner Hall in Westerly, an interesting place trying to re-create an old amusement park dining hall feel. Cool if you are familiar with Rocky Point, but not the greatest location.
And finally
- The Rathskeller in Charlestown, great food, beer, outdoor party (cornhole, horseshoes, massive fire pit, etc) place fills up quick though
These have my seal of approval and should get you through the week
Enjoy your stay in Rhody!
