Fellow Front Rangers, Superior CO

I recall seeing a few others here from this neck of the woods. If you're in the Superior or Louisville area and impacted by today's horrific devastation, please let us know!

For those of you unfamiliar with the area, these are not remote, mountainous areas. This was not a fire on BLM land. These are towns, suburbs, neighborhoods as in any other state. Hospitals, schools, stores.

I cannot tell exactly, but I won't be surprised if "most" of Superior Colorado is gone come morning light. And maybe a quarter or third of Louisville.

A firestorm straight out of a movie.
100 MPH winds, a downed power line and the start of a neighborhood that abutted a grassy plain.

Rough count as I can tell as of 10:00pm MT, is 600+ homes known gone. Thousands, tens of thousands of people displaced. Evacuated.

Come morning light, when the winds abate - they'll better know the extent of the catastrophe.

I just now saw the story land pictures on MSN. Truly a disaster for those folks. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the fires.

Parts of Kansas had the same fire/wind storms last week. Luckily it did not do as much damage but some lost homes too.
