I hope I attached the picture correctly. This was our first weekend at an actual campground in the new camper. It rained quite a bit and we were all a muddy mess when we returned home yesterday. We also got to experience pulling into the CG in the pitch black and pouring rain, DH got to experience backing up a brand new rig into a spot where we couldn't see, and we also got to break out our water bandit as none of the spigots were threaded. And they were all on the wrong side of the road. It was a terse few minutes until we got unhitched, let me tell you! After that, depsite the weather we had a great weekend.

Luckily the rain didn't put out our fire and our chicken roasted beautifully on our new grizzly spit. Unfortunately, I forgot my potato masher and left the peas in the freezer at home, so we ended up having plates of chicken meat and pints of Guinness for dinner Saturday. At least we hit the two major foodgroups.

Glad you had a good weekend camping even with the weather. The chicken looks great and the kids must have loved the guinness food group

Wow, That makes me hungry. What is a Grizzley Spit? Is it something you built or did you purchase it?

I bought it last week - someone asked about them in a thread, and when I looked it up I was sold. It worked quite well - cooked the chicken in about 2 hours. I followed other reviewers suggestions and stuck a pie tin on the spit to deflect some heat off the motor box, will probably come up with something more secure for next time. We're thinking of trying prime rib next time.

That is one fine looking chicken... and this comes from a man who just ate a big burger. Haha
