Garbage Can turkey

Anyone ever try a garbage can turkey? We put tinfoil on the ground with a steak strong enough to hold a turkey. Then you cover the turkey with a NEW metal garbage can pressing firmly into the ground to make seal. Then dump charcoals on top and around the side. Light up the coals and In 2 hrs you will enjoy the best moist turkey ever!!

I have pics just not sure how to post them!

We were camped in NC a few years ago and a group was fixing Turkey that way.

It is novel but does not appeal to me on many levels.

The "stake string enough to hold a turkey"
Is that a live turkey or a dead one you are staking under there?

I'm not sure 15-20 ? Was probably the biggest one the supermarket had. We have a lot of people to feed at camp! We do season the turkey before hand. And you can't open the can at ALL just wait 2 hrs and it's done. No peekng!

I really like my turkey cooker but this looks real interesting. One question, how long until the grass grows back?
