We use a coffee maker with a thermal carafe when we have power( also have 3000w generator) and a stainless steel french press when no power to be had.

I agree with Crabman about the cowboy coffee...
I think every RVer that drinks coffee should make some campfire cowboy coffee. start with cold water add enough measures for the pot.. bring to a boil.. the longer the boil the stronger the coffee. a splash of cold water usually settles the grounds some float pine chips on top to do this too.. and serve...

The nice thing about it is that you can make as much coffee as you want. For example, instead of putting in 2 scoops of coffee for 1 cup, I can do 4 and make 2 cups using a larger mug and splitting. Fast clean-up makes 2nd cups easy, you just unscrew the bottom, then push out the paper filter and grounds directly into the garbage, nothing to clean. I used a french press prior to this, and cleaning it was a pain.

Cowboy Camp Coffee is good....especially if you have to use a toothpick to get the grinds out of your teeth. That's roughing it!!!!

While Cowboy Coffee is still boiling, crack an egg into the pot and let it cook. It will catch most of the grounds. Of course the egg really looks BAD.

I am SO NOT going to try this! Eggs in my coffee!! Oh my!
Thanks for all the tips everyone! While searching reviews for the Aeropress, I came across the Chemex (Cemex?) glass, sort of reverse French press. Like a giant Aeropress using gravity instead of a press. I am going to try it at home and if I don't like it, I'll return it to Amazon for the Aeropress.
Happy Camping!!!

We use the Cuisinart DGB600 fresh Bean Coffee Maker... This one is where you fill up the top with fresh coffee beans and water and it grinds the beans and makes coffee. It fills the fresh coffee into a thermos type carafe. Then the coffee pot shuts completely down. It is only on for about five-minutes so it is good for using off the generator.
The thermos carafe keeps the fresh coffee nice and hot for hours...
The downside is the coffee grinder is a pretty loud noise maker and wakes up everyone when camping. Then they drink up all your fresh made coffee...
I like everyone else always carry the old time percolator as an emergency coffee maker. Always got to have a plan B...

I actually did that last month in Egypt. No alcohol to be found (75% Muslim) except "Non-Alcoholic" beer. Tasted llike the smell of hops! LOL I like the "leaded" version better!
Don uses instant coffee (water heated on gas stove) when we can't get the fresh made stuff.

Lately I have been opening the little Starbucks chilled bottle with a little chocolate in it. I am not much of a coffee fan. Obviously.

We have an aluminum plug in coffee perk bought from Walmart. Has never boiled over and only gets grounds if I forget to put the small disk on before the lid Works great and will definitely take camping
