With 3 shots of Crown Royal in the cup. Maybe just a bit of coffee for color.

Old standby. Simple and better than the Cuisinart at home. Just heat the water and pour it through.

We perk ours on the gas stove. The flavor is so rich compared to drip coffee. IMHO

As for making the coffee when camping, I'm a simpleton. I used a Kuerig when we first started. Then a French press(too messy). For the last two years, it's been a $20 regular old coffee maker from Wally World. 4 table spoons of whatever looks good or is on sale. I also carry a pour over thingy in case I've only got DC power.

Pour over coffee maker

I have been using the Hario V60 pour over coffee maker for two years. You can heat your water over a stove (inside or out), or in a microwave. The coffee can be made as strong as you like using whatever brand you prefer. The filter is paper and is biodegradable. In my opinion, pour over coffee tastes better than any other method used.:https://www.amazon.com/Hario-Ceramic...ords=hario+v60

Kinda like a good diesel additive?

I was skimming so forgive me. But after researching how to have less grounds from the perk I came across a YouTube video that showed how to use a filter in the perk. You basically use a round paper filter and fold it a couple of times. Then cut off a small amount of the tip. This makes it the perfect size to slip over the perk tube and keep 99% of the grounds out. It also allows the water to soak the grounds longer to extract more flavor out.

Does it ever boil over? What about the coffee grounds? Get in your coffee?

Thanks, Kim

Perhaps I should go find some directions....
I sometimes use a stove top perculator rescued from my childhood. One scoop per 2 cups . Toke off the fire when coffee looks strong enough in the glass bulb. It will boil over if you leave it on too long.

This is our exact set up. Sometimes we bring our insulated carafe from home and transfer the pour over coffee into is, but usually we can finish it all before it gets cold.

The pour over is great because we can use the same system whether we are dry camping or on shore power. Also, it tastes awesome!

K-Cup Coffee

We are spoiled. Always on shore power so we just use a Kurig. Back in the tent camping days it was a simple hot water over an open flame and instant coffee mix. I can still go either way.

they are talking about coffee, but you are saying about tea...

I have the same model of Keurig in the camper as I do at home. I got tired of drinking cheap coffee. It just didn't taste good.

Re the French press, it makes a great cup of coffee but I struggle with dealing with the grounds and trying not to have them go into the grey tank. So we prefer the small Melitta cone which makes a good pour over and the grounds are corralled nicely and disposed of in the trash.

X2. Clean and simple. We brew it into a thermal carafe and take it out and enjoy the view!

On an old-school perc, takes a bit of babysitting, but turn the flame down as soon as you hear water begin to boil. the flame goes down to 'almost out' and you may even have to move the pot partially off the burner. slow perk and don't completely fill the water. i try for the slowest 'perk' possible to allow the water to drain thru the grounds. when the clear perk cap shows the color you want to see in a pour, your java is ready. this is a dying art, but you got this. practice at home where a mess is easier to manage.

French press. No electric required and you can make as strong as you need. Love it for the easy fast results. Have to have my coffee in the morning like others. Take care

Enjoy the journey
