We used a french press last weekend in the camper and ended up with coffee strong enough to revive a dead body.

Normally we use a percolater when camping.

It depends on where we are and who we are with. I have an automatic drip, single use Keurig, camp stove percolator and a french press. We have several coffee selections also, as I am very good friends with a local coffee roaster. My current favorite is Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Expensive, but a damn good cup of coffee.

I have become a fan of cold brew coffee lately. I just brew at home and keep in a gallon jug in the fridge for a few days camping.

Plain old pot preferably outside on a fire b
ut inside on the propane stove works too. Let the water get warm and then pour in the amount of coffee you prefer, bring it to a rolling boil, turn down heat and let it simmer for a few minutes. Take a half of cup of cold water and pour some down the spout and the rest in the pot. Wait a couple minutes and pour, best coffee you will ever have, you have just boiled the acid out and left pure tasting coffee. The cold water takes the grounds to the bottom of the pot.

Used to use the over burner drip coffee maker, now I have a propane one so I can free up a burner on my outside kitchen for BACON.
Who am I kidding, my 2 burner stove had the coffee maker on one burner and BACON on the other. Now I can cook eggs too

True Jamaican Blue is awesome!
Had a coworker come back with a pound, after a trip there, in the mid 90s. Very smooth.

I also really enjoy true Kona in the afternoon.
But that's gotten really hard to find!

Campfire coffee pot.

We hardly ever cook inside. So we use a metal shelf, found at a thrift store clearance,, 3' X 20". We put it over the fire and then I fill the stainless steel coffee pot with fresh water and 2 filter packs. You can get restaurant style filter packs at Costco or any other restaurant supply store.

On the chilly mornings, hubby turns on the generator and I turn on the drip maker on the counter by the sink. We usually only drink 1 12oz pot so when the drip maker is done we turn off the generator. But be sure to wrap the carafe in lots of towels. I store mine under the bench seat.

The coffee grinds I dump from the filter pouch and scatter under the trailer as critters don''t like the smell.

Happy Camping

A number of years ago we bought a coleman coffee maker.it sits on top of a propane camp stove and uses it to heat the water and drip the coffee. We have used a tent trailer for 15 years and it had an outdoor stove. We just recently purchased a 25ft jayco jaycee and guess what.. no outdoor stove.!!! I am at a bit of a loss myself right now because I am truly going to miss that outdoor stove if nothing more than to make the morning coffee. There is a quick coupler for a stove present but I need to find a stove and mount. Wish me luck!!! I have seen the same coffee maker that takes a small screw on propane bottle so that may be the best for both of us.

We had a 4 cup Mr. Coffee unit in our old TT. We use a Keurig at home so we bought an Oxx Box unit for the new TT.

a picnic table and a backpacking stove works fine for outdoor coffee. Or find a Coleman two burner. No need for a hookup... just buy isobutane canister or 1 lb propane canister

We use a stove top percolator and only use Jamaica blue mountain. That is my special treat. We went to Jamaica a few years ago and have been hooked since. So now when we camp, I bring a pound of blue mountain beans, grind them up and perc away. It is like liquid heaven. At home, it is whatever the wife buys but camping is always blue mountain. Too expensive to drink everyday unfortunately. [emoji477]

I'll hit the remote on my generator, setup the Keurig with Newmans own or doughnut shop add milk and Stevia. Don't try to stop this process or someone could get hurt.

I certainly have a first-world approach to my addiction.

Ha, sounds like my scotch. I drink the cheap stuff at home but when camping it's strictly 12 year old single malt.

You guys must be long lost kin to me!!

DO NOT get in the way of my coffee in the morning, it could be detrimental to your health! And there's just nothing like a good scotch on the rocks. If it's cold outside, I'll take it neat.

I hope not to offend, but I just cannot do the Krueig thing anymore. It harbors bacteria and is impossible to clean. We use a kettle and make pour-over coffee. It makes superior coffe and is especially good with filtered water. You only need a coffee cone and boiling water!

This is what we use:

Can't beat the taste!
