Jayco RV Blackstone Propane conversion

We received the 17 inch Blackstone RV griddle with our 24BH. There is a warning in the bottom of the griddle that says do not connect to propane. I assume that means without either going through the RV regulator or some other regulator attachment? Can I get something like this to convert it so that it can connect to a propane tank directly? I know Blackstone makes something like this as well. I wasn't sure if this Blackstone was made any differently than the normal 17 inch that you can buy from the stores. I would prefer to not have the griddle right next to the camper as I cook on it. The JayPort is too close.

I tried to find this topic in the forums already but didn't see anything specifically related to this.

Thanks!

That's the exact one I use. It's 8ft long. Be sure to disconnect it at the bottle every time. My plastic sealing washer disintegrated once when I left it connected.

The regulator came with my Blackstone and a place to store it below the burners. If yours didn’t I think I would contact Blackstone and ask them why yours didn’t.

Thanks for the responses. With the RV, it came with a quick connect to be able to connect to the camper regulated quick connect but did not come with the regulator hose. I assume that comes with one of the Blackstone that you buy from a store. I am guessing that is the main difference between them.

I was debating on trying to find a regulator hose that could connect to the little green propane bottles but I'm not sure those are going to last long since they are so small. Was hoping for something simple for making it more portable.

Thanks again.

I found the little green canisters don't provide enough "umf" to get that tell-tale Blackstone burner flame. Blackstone is great, but they are proprietary. Their threads are just slightly different from everything else on the market.

I have a Blackstone (did not come with the TT). I have the OEM regulator that Happy Wife / Happy Life shows. I have a manifold I screw onto the 20# tank. Then connect a hose between it, and the device(s) I want to use such as my Blackstone, grill, or camp stove. Works nice. Super simple. I just use the OEM regulators at each device.

As mentioned above the 1lbs. Bottles just don’t have enough “ umf “ for the Blackstone and the OE regulators gives you options. I use a 5lbs. tank ( I have hardware in my back ) because it’s easy to move around and a 8 foot hose. I would think you could get the OE regulator from Blackstone or Amazon. Keeping things simple makes for better camping IMHO. Good luck and have fun camping!

I bought my Blackstone through Amazon. It came with the regulator hose you showed and a regulator for 1# bottles. My TT has a connection point that is regulated. I had to buy an unregulated hose.

The other difference is the heat shield that comes with the Jayco furnished Blackstone.
Not sure how effective it is, but there is a difference in radiated heat.
