We have had this Zojirushi 2 lb loaf - horizontal for many years and I am
sold on it. It is a little bulky, but fits well in our under counter cabinet in the class A.

Two years ago I retired and decided to move way out of my comfort zone and learn to bake bread. With help from my patient wife and her bread machine, and son who is a college professor that should have been a chef I gave it a shot. Now I grind my own wheat berries and mix/kneed the dough in a Bosch mixer. I'm still making mistakes but learning. The internet has been invaluable. Today i just popped some sourdough rye in the oven.

HI JETLAG, We have the same bread maker and Its also affectionately called R2D2 and TURBY. We've had ours since the early '90's and it still works fine. Wife bought a newer more compact one a few years ago but often gets TURBY out for fun. Nothing better than the scent of fresh baked bread other than the taste, warm with butter.
Many Cheers
Rick

Hey Rick,
Wish she still had hers, it was cool to look at and it worked well. She has a newer one now, much smaller, and since I mentioned this post to her, she is getting ready to get it out and make some good bread
