Oven Diffuser Question

Those of you that use a pizza stone or cookie sheet to diffuse the heat do you place it directly on the bottom or on the rack?

We've been doing it wrong for years. It wasn't until today that we looked at the stove and thought maybe we should have it on the bottom.

We just purchased a new Jay Flight, and I was wondering the same thing. I figured the bottom (on the metal directly above the flame) would be the best, but I noticed a metal sensor at the back of this area, so I think it might be safer to put the pizza stone on the rack. Thoughts?

I use a small cookie sheet. I place it on the existing heat shield.

Stacy has been cooking(baking) the brownies, lasagna and just about anything that would go in the oven - on our Traeger... We put the pizza stone right under the item being cooked - they come out amazing!

think about Hickory smoked brownies!...
