2019 Talon

Doesn’t seem like these come with slide out awnings. Can you get aftermarket awnings? Anyone done this?

Ordered one from etrailer last week. Installed it yesterday. You need two tall step ladders, and a good helper, other than that, pretty straight forward. Also installed assist handles at both doors.

Slide awnings or no?

Options on slide awnings? Some say no, they just cause leaves and other things to accumulate underneath. Others say, they help keep the crap off.

Thoughts?

I'm wondering the same. We have a 2018 413. Was considering doing it myself. I would rather not get on the roof often to clean slides before leaving sites.

5th wheel hitch. I have a Silverado 3500 long bed. Do I just get the regular hitch or is it better to get the sliding hitch?

First fifth wheel? You’ll be fine with a standard fifth wheel hitch in a long bed. The sliders are made for short beds.

I’ve had sliders in my last two trucks as they were both short beds. Never had to use them though till we got this Talon. That is likely due because it’s 102” wide instead of the standard 96” width of a regular 5th wheel.

You just never know

Thanks! I just wanted to ask someone that had one as I didn't want to assume that with the long bed it would be fine and then find out I can only get to 80 degree angle. :-)

Thanks again.

I believe only short beds need slider hitch.

Had slide toppers on every unit we bought beginning in the mid 90's, would never go without them. Never had "stuff" underneath.
