Cleaning Floors

Considering Octane SL 272but my husband is concerned about the cargo area & living area being all one area. Concerned about gas fumes & cleaning the floors when we put the toys back in. Are the floors durable? Does anyone have suggestions for keeping floors clean or make-shift solution to separate the 2 areas?

I put a tarp down before I drive in. Never noticed a problem with fumes. If you want a separate area then you need to look at models with separate garage.

I have the 273, I usually load 2 large bikes in. Never had a problem with the floor or fumes. Just make sure the bikes or toys don’t leak, if they do put down a new oil pad every time you load up. There are vents on both sides of the camper to remove gas fumes.

We have an Octane SL 272 - a large part of the reason we chose that model is bc the cargo and living area ARE all one area. We love the open layout and the room. We also have our dogs along when we travel (most of our travel is hunting trips, hunt tests or horse trail rides) and the floors make it super easy to keep everything clean. We use a push broom to keep most of the dirt and dust knocked out, and a micro-fiber mop and a spray bottle full of cleaning solution to keep the floors clean. We prob spray and mop at least once a day to stay on top of it. The mop we use has multiple removable 'mops' so when one is dirty we swap it out for a clean one the next time. All of them go in the washing machine when we get home.

I think the floors are very durable. We love our unit, and specifically the easily cleanable floors with no carpet. Like another member commented, I just make sure our side by side isn't leaking and has cooled/dried off before I load it and we haven't had a problem yet. No gas fumes to speak of either.

I have a 2018 222 and the linoleum buckled under one of my rear tires on the SXS on our first trip. Cant believe no one else has had this problem. Guess I'm the lucky one ! Dealer said they only two way tape the edges of the linoleum and did not glue it at all. As for the trip home, I let the SXS dry before I loaded it back in for the return trip.
