Co2 detector

Happy New Year All!!

I have a concern! I plugged our Octane 220 into the house power and the Co2 detector started beeping. I reset it and the green light was illuminated and did not beep again.

Anyone know why the alarm was triggered?

CO2 detectors have a lifespan of 5-7 yrs. there is probably a mfg date on it someplace. My first guess (without knowing how old yours is) would be it needs replacing.

Thanks for responding!

It’s less than a year old.

Did it pick up fumes from your TV? Are you sure it was the CO detector and not some other alarm?

CO detectors can be set off by dust bunnies so a small amount of computer duster might help. Also, some are combo CO and LP gas detectors. Could it be a little propane?
Last, some have battery backup, might check the battery if it has one and your smoke alarm.

NOTE TO ALL new RV owners. The fire/smoke detectors probably don't have a battery in them from the factory!

Or, as in our case, they left the plastic tab between the battery and alarm contacts. Didn’t discover it for six months.
