Jayco 273 Bunk/couch alignment issues...need help

So the bottom bunk (the dual couch) on my 273 is not lined up well. I am specifically talking about the fold over back rests that turn the 2 couches into a single bunk. They stick up quite a bit higher than the rest of the couch making for an uneven and uncomfortable sleeping situation. It is almost unusable.

Are these adjustable? I am not seeing any at first glance? Is there a solution to this? I can't put someone in this bunk at this point.

I also have a 273 and mine is pretty much like that as well. You can move them around a bit to make them a little flatter. That bunk is really only suitable for kids sleeping on it. It wouldn't be all that great for adults.

I have same set up and problem in a octane 272 we just put an air mattress on top. Never have gotten it to line up good enough to be an even sleeping surface.

Does the air mattress make it tolerable?

Yes. I’ve had two different adults sleep on it multiple nights with no complaints. Got the queen size index comfort plush with integrated pump door about 40 bucks from amazon so we can deflate each day and put out of the way.

Yeah, i have the same set up in my 222,
So I think the overall design of how they fold out is to sleep two persons Long ways instead of across it ...
I've tried it out myself, I personally came to the conclusion that sleeping across is not comfortable.. .. the center of it with the armrest is kind of bulky and will dig into your side , unless you put something over the top of it .... but I just don't feel like that Peg will support the weight....
On the other hand, setting it up long ways isn't too bad .
I noticed that after you put that Peg down and then lower the sofa in increments , it kinda evens out ..
i also usually put a crate or cooler against the trailers ramp door so the pillow can't fall between back space .. I'll be honest, after that it's not that bad..

Bought a 12" air mattress from walmart for $28. Will give it a shot.
