Octane 161 Roll Over Couches
I pulled our two couches out of our camper when new. Anyone interested in buying them? I’m thinking $500 for the pair. I’m in the Twin Cities area.

They worked ok for seating but not so good when converted into a bed. I replaced them with dedicated twin beds much more comfy to sleep on. Can still be used to sit or lounge during the day. Just works better for us.

Wow well done . What is the position when stowed? can the twins fold flat against wall like original couches? Only lifted under queen bunk?

They can either lift up or fold against the wall. I put two can-am 2-up ATVs in it side by side so I lift them all the way up and out of the way.

1. Remove the jackknife sofas
2. Buy two “Dual Duty Dual Sided Firm/Soft Foam RV Bunk Mattress, 75" X 28" X 6"” from amazon (or another size that suits your needs).
3. Buy 2” x 2”x 1/8” angle iron and weld together a rectangular frame that fits the mattresses (could also bolt together). Grind welds smooth and paint black.
4. Cut a 3/4” plywood base that fits inside the new frame. Drill and screw together.
5. Mount new frame and plywood base assembly to existing HappiJac support arms. Place mattress in position.
6. (Optional) add bed supports under plywood to the floor. This helps to support the cantilevered HappiJac support arms and levels the beds when in the down position. The ones I have are on hinges so they can be flipped up out of the way when loading the ATVs.
I can send you more detailed pics if you want.

That would be very cool of you to do. Can you include pics of how you disconnected the hapijack couches and what the support arms look like?

I guess it’s a 1-1/2”x2” angle.

Rollover Couches are Uncomfortable!
We are thinking about taking out the rollover couches in our Octane 161. The couches are really uncomfortable to sit on, and when folded down to a bed, all four pieces don't lay flush. It's a lumpy slippery excuse for a bed. Has anyone actually successfully used the rollover couches as a bed? We're very curious. Thanks!

The seats are easy to take off, some screws and unplug the electric lights. You will have the sofa bars to contend with. Depending what you want to do with those. The upper bed rides on the sofa bars, so you'll have to make a decision.
I took the bed stops out and so the upper bed comes all the way down on top of the sofas and stops just 2' from the floor and is easy to get on and off that way.

Maybe an Option?
We came across this:
https://foldingbed.net/Category/Wall-Mounted-Couch-Bed
Obviously these are made to mount on a wall and we'd have to use our existing hardware to make them work on the rails. Any thoughts? Possibly more comfortable, or are we swapping one problem for another?

I also have a pair of couches and a table left over that I would be willing to sell.

Do you still have these sofas? I have toy hauler with hinged panels and separate cushions. I would love to replace with your sofas. I would pick them up and pay cash. Please let me know.
