Octane

I have 2018 t30f octane with fuel station. I am unable to fill fuel tank. Can only put in 21.6 gallons of gas in this 40 gallon tank. Is anyone else having this issue. Thanks rick.

This post needs to be moved and re-titled. I thought it was a fuel octane question. But he has an RV called "Octane".

It may not be a 40 gallon tank. According to the spec sheets/brochures we thought we had a 40 gallon tank on our Octane (even the dealership told us it was a 40 gallon tank). Had a similar issue the first time we filled the fuel tank/station up. It only took 30 gallons. After contacting Jayco with the Vin# they let me know we only have a 32 gallon fuel tank.

And I have a talon with a 40 gallon. And after running my generator till gas gage said empty, I filled up. Only to find I still have 11 gallons of fuel.....
Dealer is supposed to look into that. I would be fine with 4 or 5 gallons after reading empty. but not a 1/4 tank left!

Vent hose plugged?

Do you hear rushing air when you open the fuel cap? If so, your vent hose is plugged by mud daubers. Mine was plugged when I first got it. Would only take fuel very slowly if at all and you would hear the tank pop through the day as it expanded and contracted. Clean the vent tube with a wire and you may find the solution.

I have a 2019 Octane t30f and after finding the line to the fuel canister kinked I checked the fuel tank and found the same problem with the vent and fill line.
They are hard to see as they are on top on the tank.
Took out kinks. Note the fuel sender units usually give a false reading.
I would use the pump to drain the tank
I then I would try filling the tank with 5 gal cans and a small siphon hose rather than at a gas station.
The problem is how do you know if the tank was empty when you started.
I also don't know if the tank has a stand pipe for the pump so it don't let
the generator run dry? On motor homes its the other way around so the gen does not let the mh engine stop.
I have not let my tank go dry so I have not had your problem.

We also have a 2019 T30F and we are only able to fill fuel tank with gas cans. We are not able to fill tank at the station's fuel pump. This seems to be a consistant issue, especially with the Jayco Octane Toy hauler. Our previous RV was a 2012 Jayco Octane 29A. It also had a kink in the fuel line because of the way it was routed. Hubs had to replace the line. If you are able to find a solution to this issue, we'd love to know about it!
