Octane SL 222: Camper door opens during travel/Water leak in shower

Was wondering if anyone had these problems and how they fixed them. 1. While driving down the road my camper door swung open. It was closed and locked, not bolt locked, but I pulled on it when we left. 2. When taking a shower, water runs along the ridge at the bottom onto the floor. Can the space between the wall and base be caulked?

2) It seems that I did have to place a towel on the floor to stop some water from running out the bathroom door. I thought it was just me being careless. I'll have to pay more attention to the shower issue next trip.

1) I have had my door open several times as well. I just used the deadbolt to keep it secured. I have since changed out the lock to a push button that operates the deadbolt every time you use it.

Have you done any modifications to the inside for storage or shelving. I took out the seat by the door and replaced it with a $69 dollar base utility cabinet from Lowe’s. Not pretty but functional and light as I want to keep the weight down.

We almost removed the seat by the door but we ended up using it a lot. We had planned to remove it when looking at this unit but we actually like it now. I did install a storage box and septic hose tube on the tongue. No inside storage mods except for a plastic storage container that gets moved around. More use and time will tell.

Did the box like yours on the tongue although yours looks a little bigger than mine. Got it at Harbor Freight and it is metal. Would have preferred resin and ordered one from amazon but it was too big. Would take pictures but I seem to be technically challenged. I’m either hauling a Triumph T100 with a sidecar or a sportster with my unit.

I got my storage box from amazon. It's a tight fit but I got it bolted in there. I will usually carry any combo of bikes in the picture but mostly the Dyna and Softail. I plan to experiment with putting the Shovelhead backwards in front of the other 2 but haven't tried that yet.

I have a 272 and my shower also leaks a little, but be careful where you caulk. I can't find the exact thread right now, but I read on here somewhere that the gap between the base and the wall is intentionally NOT caulked in order to let moisture evaporate and dry. Hope this helps.

I went to Lowe’s bathroom section and purchased an L shaped plastic piece with double sided tape on the back and bottom. It goes on the top of the tub and against the tub wall. I didn’t trust the tape so I calked it. It should block the water from running down on the floor. I would take a picture but can’t figure out how. Technically challenged.

I like that small seat in the 222. If we stop for the night and have a toy loaded in the rear, we still have a place to sit and eat without unloading the toy. I did toss around the idea of adding storage in that spot but opted not to.

I did add two shelves each to the other cabinets, the ones on each side of the door. They sure made a difference. I'd post a photo but I'm away from home for a few more days.

I looked at my shower over the weekend and these pics tell the story. That's factory dried silicone near the edge. What were they trying to do? Now I'm confused... lol. Not sure what I am going to do about this, if anything.

Can you clean the silicone with mineral spirits or will it be too harsh on the plastic? I previously posted a picture of what I did to keep water from running out on floor.

This is what I ended up doing...
I added the shower corner pieces from Home Depot and sealed everything with tub and tile waterproof silicone. See pics

Finally got around to removing the small "useless couch" and replacing it with Menards cabinet with a homemade countertop.

I did the same but,with a small dresser from wayfair, maybe added 25 lbs tho. Some childlocks in drawers keeps them closed.

Have the plastic corners in my shower in mine, works well.
