I have to certify my new Andersen Sway Control Weight Distributing Hitch. I purchased it on Amazon. Does the trick and my truck sits nice a nd level.

I would be very interested and appreciative in your overview of how the Andersen tows your Octane TH regarding action when 18 wheelers blow by as well as bounce and overall feel. I am leaning towards an Equalizer 14K WDH but I am very open to alternatives.

No doubt I will. I can honestly say that for a first use, it was very easy to install, very easy to setup, and when towing...I get no bounce, no sway, and so far, no bucking and chucking. The Silverado also did very well when taking off. Pulling the T31B from the RV lot where I purchased, my best route was the highway. Acceleration was good, I was able to get up to speed with a reasonable amount of effort. I did not feel as though my truck was bogging at any point. I got the trailer up to around 65 and had one truck pass on the right when getting up to speed. No issues with sway. Between the trucks sway control, the Anderson Hitch ability to control sway, and the Sway Commander on my T31B, I simply haven't experience sway at all. I towed the unit about 12 miles to my home, then another 5 to the storage lot two days after I purchased it. My home owners association allows for 48 hours before and after a trip for loading and preparation. Looking forward to seeing how it does at grade, and whether the engine braking will actually help control the speed cruising downhill.

In the past I used a conventional chain style WDH with heavy bars and the pipe to set up with. The Andersen no-sway use looks much better in the videos.

My question to you who have them is:

Is it really as simple and easy as the youtubes I have seen to hitch and unhitch?

Thanks, I am in the process of buying a SLX 195rb with a Jeep Grand Cherokee "14 as my tow vehicle.

Id say it works very well, but the setup isn't as easy and quick as the video might suggest. Too late to change now. I have it and it works so why change now.

Slowpoke could you expand on you comment "not as easy as it looks" I am trying to avoid the heavy lifting of the bars and the tightening of the chain. But there is always a little work in anything.

Based on the video it looks like you just put on the plate and hand tighten the big bolts and your off.

I just placed an order for a 2017 T31B. Should arrive in 10-14 weeks is what they are telling me. Any advice from other owners on this model and how are you liking it?

I have a 2015 T31B we bought brand new about a year ago. We had a few issues like the shower drain not being hooked up, the fuel gauge doesn't work and the fresh water level sensor doesn't work. But overall it's a nice camper. This was the only travel trailer toy hauler I could find that had the weight capacity and the space to haul my Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT.

Did you ever get your fuel gauge fixed? Mine doesn't work either.

No. My dealership is 100 miles away so it's not worth the time and fuel to go get it fixed.

On my 2014 Octane T29A, the only issues have been the fuel gauge and generator hour meter not working. Both had bad grounds. Ran a new separate ground to both, no problems since. My service manager told me most problems he deals with on new Jayco gauges, meters etc. are related to bad grounds, just something to check. With over 40k miles on the TT, I did replace the suspension bushings with the wet bolt kit around 25k, about half the bushings were worn through, so I recommend the wet bolt kit if you plan to roll the miles on.

Thanks Labman. I hope that is the problem with mine. That would be a relatively easy fix.

I wouldn't tow a T31b with a half ton. It's almost 12,000 lbs.
