One of those OMG moments!

So having decided it was time to repack bearings and inspect our brakes I removed the first tire and my eyes went !!

I knew this tire also had a very slow leak and now I certainly know why.
I also know now why they are described as "Westlake Bombs"!

This tire exhibited no tread wear, vibration or irregularities from the outside but quite obviously on the inside was a different story. All other tires appear to be just fine but they have now all been replaced with Sailuns which IMO are far superior in both weight and composition.

Would recommend to anyone else with these tires to inspect both inside and out and keep a very close eye on them for sure!

Wow!! Isnt that a patch you would use to fix holes in Jean's? Haha sure looks like it!

Glad you found it before it did any damage... and shame on the person that did this.

This was not any act of vandalism. It was just simply tire failure. The outer skin of the tire is actually peeling away from the inner layers and I can keep pulling it apart. Seems like it just debonded and a chunk disappeared. The front tire seems perfectly fine albeit still cheap!
I wouldn't trust any of these tires and Jayco having issues has now switched to Good Year Endurance tires.

Its a lack of proper rubber compound mix in China build tires, special by the cheaper manufacturing companies. Ever wondered why shoes out those Asian countries crack in the middle of the sole and won't last. The rubber compound is to hard.
I have Westlake - 14" for the last 6 years and have them covered from UV and they are holding up pretty good even with the harsh Canadian winters. Would I buy again No!
