Options for getting fresh water

So we ordered our Talon and we hope to have it by spring. We plan on doing a lot of ATV riding. We also plan on doing a lot of boon docking.

What have people done for obtaining fresh water while on the road?

We are real picky about the water we put in our trailers. I'm surprised that FlyingJs or the like don't have some kind of service for RVers to get fresh water.

Almost thinking to pull into a neighborhood and offer $20 for a tank of water.

Unless the Flying J has a dump station, forget finding potable water to fill up. If they do have a dump station, you will know from the 15 trailers all in line for it.

We found that a google search for City and County Parks that have equestrian facilities, always have water hydrants easily reachable. Often it is the local rodeo arena and the lights help give it away. Other times we just find a local RV park along the way and pay the $10-$20 they ask for us to dump and refill our water tanks in the Seneca and the tanks on the trailer. KOA's are really handy since they are nearly everywhere. We just put a water filter on the hose line and fill em up.

We travel with our water tanks full (~80gal) when we leave the house and top off the tanks when necessary at a campground. When boondocking for 2 to 4 days, we've never run out of fresh water but have run out of battery capacity or grey water capacity. We used to have a couple of empty 7gal water cans we brought just in case we needed them to fetch water somewhere, but we never needed to use them.

We are picky about our water, too, so we use sediment filters and a charcoal filter when filling our tanks. On a couple of occasions I didn't like the way the campground water smelled so didn't use it even with our filters.
