Seismic and truck length

With a lot of states declaring a 65 foot total length it becomes an issue. Exterior travel length on a Seismic 4125 is 44 feet 3 inches and a 2019 Ford crew cab dually is 22 feet 2 inches. 66 feet 5 inches total. How many here are towing Seismic’s with crew cab trucks? For cross country travel I would not want less than a crew cab but it appears I would be busting a legal overall length of 65 feet in a lot of states?

Some of that length (4' or so) will be in the truck bed, so that cuts down on the overall length.

That 44 feet 3 inches is the published travel length from the brochure. The overall length from the brochure is 45 feet 7 inches.

Overall length 45' 7" with 4' in truck bed cuts down the "travel length" to 41' 7". I've never seen a 5th wheel with only 1' in the truck bed.

Edit: Just looked at the brochure. There is an asterisk by "travel length" that says "distance between pin box and bumper, total exterior length may be longer". You would be under the max length when hooked up to truck.

Thinking about it you are right it has to be overlapping more than that.

The difference in the overall length and travel length will be the amount the front cap extends past the pin box.

I would assumed that if your trailer and truck is legally registered and within maximum combination length in you home state that other states you visit will not bother you if you are over on their state requirement.

got 4212 Seismic with Ford F450 Crew Cab P/U. Jayco says the Seismic 45'3" cap to rear. Been in 30 states and close to 35,000 miles. Never be stopped nor anyone question length expect California. They wanted to just look and see, no big deal. I wish I could say the same for Seismic, just got out of shop again for slide issues. Extended Warranty covered $2500.00 and we had to pay $2037.00 out of pocket. This is the 3 rd time it has been rebuilt in 4 years.
