Sewer hose storage in octane sl 272

Hello all,

Just wondering what the thoughts were when deciding to put hose storage in the octane sl that won’t allow for the fittings on the end of my sewer hoses. Am I using the wrong ends? Am I supposed to remove the ends from my sewer hose each time I store?

I mounted a storage tube under the trailer on the frame. I'm thinking a summer project will be to cut out the tube Jayco installed and mount a longer and larger one that actually fits a hose. If you look under the bed you will see the Jayco mounted tube, it looks like it would be an easy project to modify the original one to actually work.

Due to the end caps, mine also do not fit in the factory storage. Poor engineering, so I cap and store them in the bay. I use the factory sewer storage for my expandable hose. It is holding a 25’ hose section.
