Simple upgrades along the way w pics, octane 222
So it's been about 2 months now since I bought my camper and we've managed to do 4 trips with it so far ,
And i just wanna say that I am a very happy camper !!
Had a few minor issues along the way , but everything has been resolved so far. I also did a couple little mods just to make it better for us.
1st things first , the fuel station corrosive handle and exposed switch have both been warrantied by my dealer. However i also decided on a aftermarket nozzle through Amazon to upgrade for the fuel handle.
I also relocated the emergency cutoff switch inside the compartment this way keeping it out of the direct flow of the rear axle Tire. I touched it up with some fresh paint , wire connectors, and rubber mat. Done!
2nd , I added a handle to the screen door, the placement of the handle helps alot without having to reach out too far to close it behind you. Also i hung a few sticky tape hooks to support for my top bunk ladder and a few extra hooks for convenience reasons like hanging up stuff...
3rd , the best thing I could have done far , for our beds i decided to go with the 4 inch memory foam mattress topper, and seriously if you care about your comfort and sleep this is an inexpensive way to make your sleeping quarters a lot more comfortable. A queen size for the Nook and 2 twin size toppers for the extra Queen top bunk , minor trimming for a perfect fit. Get it at Walmart spent like 200 bucks more or less.

Happy Campers
Since you mentioned the mattress and sleeping...
Years ago the DW and I agreed that a good night's sleep is the #1 thing for us. With a good night's sleep, bad circumstances are more easily tolerated, but without a good night's sleep, good things aren't fully appreciated.

I put my ladder in the same spot. (although I got yelled at for buying a 2 stepper instead of the 3 stepper. I said, "but hun, we will never use it since we sleep in the front. Let the guest worry about jumping the extra 4 inches." Lol
I also went with the Serta 3" gel memory foam for the front and trimmed it with an electric carving knife. Cut through it like butter. Thanksgiving dinner will never taste the same.

Some pics...
Should have been more descriptive: LED touch lights in the bedroom, and LED motion sensor lights by outside door entrance, bathroom, and outside storage compartment...

That is a logical place to put the fold-away counter since the electrical outlets are there. Perfect spot for the coffee maker.

MoeA: I’m wanting to add a fold-down counter like yours in our SLX212. It would go on the end of the cabinet to the left of the sink as there’s no switch or outlet there. Did you make your shelf or did it come pre-fab with the hinge etc? Where did you get it? Thanks!

I bought on amazon, and I installed 1/4” board behind the shelf to span the studs in the wall and to give support for the fold out bracket.

I think it's pretty close to a standard queen except for a few inches narrower and the curved cut out...

Did you check into an IKEA fold down table, why did you choose the one from Amazon, b/c it was smaller? How is the table holding up? I am considering removing the small sofa from our Octane 222 and putting a drop leave table there for a workstation/small dinette instead of lugging the large collapsible table in when eating.
