I hit something (trash cans my mother put down on the curb even knowing I was pulling into town tonight in the dark) and did a number on the stairs into my 161 Octane SL. They'll still fold out (barely), but anyone know if they can be bent back into place or if they need replacing how much they cost?
Cost, depends on what you have. $100 to $150, if you buy the parts and replace them. Type in "rv 2 step stairs" in google or amazon. You should find a few options.
As for straighting, it really depends on how bad they are. I suspect, they are not to bad, if you can still open and close them.
Thanks! I was imagining like $1000 of damage. Pshew! I'm already courting damage from the freak storm in Texas (I was assured that it never freezes near Houston...no need to winterize). Fingers all crossed that I'm only out a few hundred dollars.
If they still fold it seems they are repairable. Rivets can be drilled out and replaced by bolt with lock nut. When taken apart parts can be straighten out.

What makes these stairs better? I know my back step on my Seismic has always been hard to fold up. those stairs must be pretty solid?
Once deployed they are more solid. They also do a much better job when the ground is weird. They can give you more or less drop depending on the situation. We’re out in the desert quite often(not groomed sites) and we can deploy the steps even when the curb side is high.

if they are like mine they are welded to the frame. as long as the frame isnt damaged, hook a ratchet strap to them and gently pull them forward at different spots on the steps till they straighten out. take your time you will need to pull a little more than you think due to spring back. park a car or truck next to your steps to hook the ratchet strap to, maybe thru slots in a vehicle tire parked next to it. I accept no responsibility for my advice. LOL

I may have to have a closer look at them, I find often the stairs are either too high or too low, my old Jayco KZ toy hauler was exact opposite, had built two landings that I used to carry around, sure don’t miss them. Lol
