Talon ramp door
Tried to find it everywhere. Does anyone know if the Talon ramp door can be left open in the rain when used as a party deck? I will close it if I can but if I get caught away from the camper I don't want to be worried about it, I just don't want to have to close up every time we leave.
Thanks in advance

Rain, schmain
It is aluminum so it isn't going to rust or the like. However...
There is rain as in it is just raining but, there is rain like it is windy and blowing, etc.
I wouldn't want it down in the later. :-)

3.5 years into a Seismic I can tell you this ours absorbed a lot of water over that time. Rust developed on all the fasteners at the hinge. I took it apart and resealed everything. I used bed liner over the whole thing, make sure you seal the edges along the aluminum .

Thanks, good information both. I tend to favor real world experience over engineered expectations

I dont think I would have it open myself. Unless I'm out on it and it's just a light quick shower. I would want to make sure it dries out before shutting it. And no way would I if I was leaving. Sum people need help to stay honest....
With that said, I'm definitely gonna look into sum additional sealing before I leave open in any rain. U just never know....
The last time I had old toyhauler out at a bike rally, went to load my bike up to leave, and spun the rear wheel on bike halfway up. Found out neighbors dog had took a crap behind my trailer and I ran throu it loading up! Had to rinse that **** off! Literally! Lol

Very good info!!
Loboclone, that is really good info. If you wouldn't mind, could you please show picture from back a ways to show where you are talking about?
Is this on the ramp itself or in the garage?
I would think it may be worth while to do something like this right from the get go.
I did the bedliner for some running boards. Looks great and no rust. :-)

I just watched a video about the types of slide mechanisms and best applications on YouTube last night. Said those r not good for big heavy slides. How big is ur slide and what's in it? Just wondering if the have made slides smaller since ur rig. 2015 seismic correct?

I have both the side deck and ramp/deck and have resealed both with the OSI Quad. It needs to be done again in spots. I was wondering if Eternabond would work and hold up better. Not sure if it would adhere to the textured decking. Has anybody tried Eternabond or know why it would not work in for this application?

The slide is 16 feet and very tall, a whole wall slide. It has a res fridge in it 21 cu ft side by side. No, they haven’t changed the slide on the 4212 at all until this model year. No more Schwintek, they have adopted a different slide system.
The slide is way to heavy for the Schwintek in wall system. Just as the leveling system is not heavy enough for a 45’ Sesimic. Our front legs have been replaced 3 times.

I have a friend that just got the 4114 I think. It's a 2018. I hope he dont have issues. Talon slides r only about 8 foot or so. And only get 8 cu ft fridges. Pretty light compared to urs.

Eternabond is a fantastic product, been around a long time. Our awnings were aging due to UV rolled up. You could see thru the awning in places, black enternabond worked great.
I wonder about the textured deck also. The Bedliner is holding up well for me, it has been on both patio/ ramps for 7 months. Been at the beach for over a month. I am retired and we use this Sesimic about 6-7 months/ year. Would use more but it keeps breaking stuff, frankly if you use a Sesimic as intended it will not hold up. We have proven it.
