Tire Hitting Bottom of Trailer

Seismic 4113 Tri Axle. Have had issues with top of tire on rear axle making contact with the trailer floor since new. Anyone else having similar issues? Already ruined 2 tires at $200 each. Makes contact when going over bumps/speed bumps. Also contacts when I raise the front of the trailer to unhook the truck.

Are these the stock tire size, or did you put larger tires on it?

Everything is stock. Not sure if the hitch is to high causing the rear to hang lower. Will try to attach a pic hitched up.

Sorry, I missed the part where you said it's the rear tires. That's gotta be the issue. It does look high in front but your truck looks stock.

Truck is stock. Husky 20K hitch set at the very highest it can go by the dealer. I may drop it one or 2 holes down and see what happens. Have to be mindful of making contact with the bed when jacking it into the driveway. It is uneven

I looks to high in front. But I would think it would need to be much more severe an angle to bottom out. Make sure u are not over loaded too. Or carry extra water in tanks if u have none. Or less if u run full.

Maybe you have already done this but, carefully check your springs, bolts, hanger brackets and shackles to be sure they are installed correctly and functioning as intended. I have talked to people with other makes of RV's where the Morryde system was installed upside down or have had bad springs.

It looks like you are riding high in the front which might affect your ride but, I don't think it should cause the tires to bottom out unless you are overloaded in the rear. Looks like you have room to lower the hitch and still have proper clearance between the RV and bed rails.

Not directly related to the issue at hand....., but I remember a few years back where "Dexter Axle" required RV manufactures to install/setup their axles so that the top of the tires had 3" clearance from the wheel well housing. I would guess this clearance was to address the motion of the leaf springs and axle load rating.

My 377 was rubbing when loaded heavy {not overloaded} and hitting bumps since new. Both axles but mostly under loaded residential fridge. Jayco upgraded 7000lb springs to 8000lb under warranty.

That close to the floor looks like maybe a collapsed spring.

I'm not an engineer, but based on the angle I'm seeing there, the rear axle (of the 3) is taking the majority of the weight of your trailer. I'd go so far to say that it's possibly overloading the weight rating of that axle.

The tongue of your trailer needs to come down somehow. Or, the rear of your truck needs to come down.
