Virgin Trip

Used my new SL222 for the 1st Time this past weekend and observed a couple weird issues:

1) the Thedford toilet seal on the flapper doesn’t hold water in the bowl? My old camper toilet was able to keep a couple inches of water o thtank seal to keep odors from coming up from the black tank. Bad seal or that’s how they are designed?

2) while level and taking a shower, water leak d along th vertical insert and shower pan. Noticed that it wasn’t caulked. Should the base of the shower be caulked?

Other than these questions....great 1st trip

No to both questions. I always had problems with my Thetford seal. Cleaning it with a old tooth brush and lubing it with a non petroleum lubricant will hopefully resolve that. What resolved mine was a new Dometic toilet.

The bottom and top of showers are not caulked to allow ventilation behind the shower walls.

Look closely while water is running in the shower and apply just enough silicone caulk to seal the leak from coming outside. This worked for us.

That is awesome! What is VMD? We ride at WNF about once a month spring and summer and once in the fall. We love to boonedock over in the Door Run area.

Do you have chocks installed in your trailer to keep your bikes tied down? Just curious if I can do without mounting a bike chock in my 222?

Nunzo: maybe the vertical waterline to the showerhead is leaking?
