Water Tank

I recently purchased my "first" camper/toy hauler as part of my retirement and to see if I will enjoy it as I had always imagined. Needless to say I am "camper illiterate."

How do you fill the water tank using the City Water Fill? There is no Gravity Fill connection on the tank. I know there has to be a valve somewhere to redirect the water to the tank, but I can't find its location. Thanks in advance...

Congratulations on RVing and retirement. And welcome to the forum.

Please let the members know what year and model RV you have. There are many variations out there!

It would help to know the make/model/year of the camper you have but generally speaking, the fresh water tank fill is where your city water hookup is. On my rig, it's the same connection that has a valve next to it that says city water/fresh tank. Something to be aware of - Water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon, so a 50 gallon fresh water tank will weigh 400 lbs. That can have some impact on MPG when you add in all the other stuff in the camper. Good Luck

If you only have one water inlet, you should have some sort of water control panel on your rig (type will vary) like this picture below. You set the levers based on the function you want.

In my rig, this panel is inside the compartment closest to the outside water connection fitting.
