2018 Jayco Precept 35s Solar Project

So far so good! Have my solar controller and bluetooth module mounted, two Bussmann 30A circuit breaker/shut offs installed and the battery connections and fuse in place. Just waiting on my two 200W panels, shipping 5/5/20.

Using the sealed compartment right next to the battery/propane compartment for the solar controller. Changed out my batteries in October for 12V Trojan 27AGM batteries, wired in parallel as before.

Here's some pics of the progress.

How will you be routing your cables from the roof to the charge controller?

The 18s are pre-wired. The roof connection is that little black square next to the rear a/c.

Received my MC4 connector kit yesterday and this morning finalized my MC4 connections from the wiring from the roof connection supplied by Jayco to the outside of my solar controller compartment. The positive and negative ends were under a cover marked "solar" left by Jayco on the right side of the battery/propane compartment. Just waiting on the panels and my roof mounting/wiring and we will be in business!

Rough location of the two panels and junction box that holds the two fuses and parallel tees.

solar

Great Job. I just recently added solar to my 31ft precept. Unfortunately, the refrigerator will not run off the inverter. need to determine if the there is even a connection between the two or if I need a larger inverter.

Funny you should mention that...I hooked my fridge to one of the inverter outlets today, fridge set to run on propane. Solar system active, inverter on, changed fridge setting to electric, my 1000W inverter handled it, but inverter fan immediately came on, battery dropped quickly to 70% then stabilized. Think for now I'll stick with propane while on solar.
