2021 Alante 31V - March, 2021 test drive

This forum is great for research.

We test drove a 31V this past Monday fresh from the factory, I can confirm that the JRide is a still "just" a sticker on the side, of a 2021 31V V8 model too, as in prior models.

Seems even with the new V8 chassis, you'll still need to invest in a steering stabilizer and a rear trac bar at a minimum. There was also play in the steering wheel, maybe that's due to initial "skipped" alignment/balance I suppose. Dealer parts person was not keen on the CHF, for what that is worth.

2021 31V (30amp) and the recent tweak of the 2021 FR3 30DS (50amp), I'd rank in top 3 of the intermediate-spacious >=30' price range Class A's;

Check out the huge display / splash guard on the late model 2021 FR3;

...Jayco needs this on the 2022's, etc..

Anyway, back to the 31V, that Godzilla engine sounds nice on these V8's. Oh, the V8 spark plug issue is also resolved on these newly released 31V's. Also had to re-attach the Bluetooth mic as it was hanging down behind steering wheel. Was also noisy/squeaky, probably needs Koni/Sumo, etc.. still too.

Over and out.

Have a 2019 31V and love it... I really like the 30amp and energy management system. It allows me to stay in sites I would not be able to in a 50amp unit, and in Florida alot of stte parks still have sites limited to 30amp. I too looked at the FR3, but the deciding factor was the rear slide (among other things) that the slide in the Jayco/Entegra goes out the driver side and not the passenger side. This keeps the "camping" side complketely clean and easy to manuever around. Both great units though....

Yes, we like the pop-outs on driver side too.

30Amp EMS is fine. We decided to go with it, with the add-on tweaks after recommendations from parts manager. Hoping to get it April 10th.

Which add-ons did you go with? I know for me, we went with a rear tracbar and steering stabilizer. Made a world of difference in the handling.

We have a 2017 31V and also are happy with the 30 amp system. Looked at the FR3 but was overpowered by the plastic smell. Here in TX most state parks are 30 amp and we don't have to use an adapter to power. Plenty of cooling with the two AC's.
Added Sumo springs and steering stabilizer. Have traveled from TX to FL, and Tx to OR with no problems in handling

x2 KenAK... the 30 amp coach really opens up alot more campsites than the 50. I travel with an uncle who has a class A diesel, and sometimes its hard to find him a spot with 50 in the same place.

Just bought some Koni’s FSD’s front & back from LTB Autosports.

Wonder why these are not standard parts of the Alante’s like their Class C’s are, oh well.

What PSI you running on tires? See pic of the 245’s. Running 84 right now, wondering if I should try 95. Not hauling/weight much.

2 trips so far.

Sumo’s maybe in 2022 and then some Khelderman‘s Air Suspension thereafter I win lottery, lol.
