A/V Cable Clean Up

I had pulled all the drawers out and was vacuuming all the construction debris out. As I looked further I saw this mess so I pulled the big trash can drawer out and took the back off the cabinet. What I found was this maze of cables and one bundle was being crushed by the TV elevator post. Eventually it would have severed several cables. Armed with a bag of cable ties and cable straps it looks better. I will re-route some of the romex and clean it up later.

Good job trying to minimize the proximity of the low voltage to the high voltage cabling. Watch out for electronic interference and try not to coil up any high voltage cabling creating a magnetic field.

I worked with a carpenter once that thought it was a great idea to coil his extension cord in a 5 gallon bucket... until the extension cord started melting when running his table saw.

Yep, I had much the same issue on my new Alante, seems the Amish running the cables at the assembly plant are not to concerned with order. Behind my wall mount TV was a mess of cables just tied in a very haphazard manner, had to get them all straightened out by disconnecting half of them to get the knots out. Same behind the entertainment system. You did a good job on the mess.
