Alante 27A - 2022 - Awning Problems

Hi. We are on a trip after having the rig in storage for almost 3 weeks.. previous trips all good.. we got to our campsite and the awning arms are not extending.. the roller (not sure how you said that in english).. the part with the actual shade... is moving fine but the arms are not extending... they extend probably 2 inches and that's it. Fuses seems to be ok... not sure what else to check as I'm a newbie on the area.

Not sure if there is an easy fix or if I need to go back to my dealer (again) with another issue to wait 3-4 months for a fix.

Thanks in advance.

Arms are likely just stuck... I would "gently" pull on the arms to see if they release and then start going out.

Make sure they're unlocked first of all. I agree, tug on them a bit to see if that dislodges them. The motor could be weak or bad as well. I've seen these awnings settle next to the unit in an overlap fashion, causing them to stick.

I need to go to storage to check on them. How you locked/unlock them? And to gently pull them.. from what area is recommended? All the way from the top? If so I need a ladder.

I would pull down on the side area where its stuck. Are you hooked to power when using it or battery? Ours is starting to tear apart from the rv..

Sometimes a twig or stick will lodge itself between the arm and the bracket.

I had an appointment today for checking the Awning. They found out that the shocks are bad and that they need to submit to warranty for approvals/etc. Incredible. Is that easy to find and replace? I waited 4 month for a new TV under warranty.. I can imagine the shocks will be a similar waiting.

I wouldn't think the shocks would be all that tough to find and replace yourself. Not near my rig to check, but just a hunch.

My 29f had/has a similar issue. I found that if I gently pull out about half an inch from the bottom of the arm, it will catch and go out just fine. I am pretty certain it is as you said and I will eventually replace it myself (even though it is under warranty). When I looked about a year ago it seemed to be a pretty straightforward job. Seems like you will get yours fixed before I fix mine, but if not I can share how the replacement goes.

I just picked up our 2022 27A yesterday. Awning worked fine then but today same as you the motor starts but the awning won't extend but a few inches.

Did you get anywhere with this yet?

I'm waiting for the shocks to be available. Warranty usually takes forever. In the meantime I'm just pushing an arm a little while the motor is running and they are opening just fine.
