Aluminum Wheel Upgrade

I own a 2018 Jayco 31P. I am considering installing aluminum wheels on my motorhome. I am curious if anyone has done this. What the pros and cons are in doing this. I also am wondering what the cost is.

Key question to me would be... "why"? I believe it would only be for aesthetics, i.e., "a look" you're after? Looking at this link, cost would be ~$2000 to $3000 with labor, balance, etc. https://buytruckwheels.com/products/...YaAscbEALw_wcB

No, actually I am looking for a better ride. I am reading that the steel wheels are commonly out of round and do not track straight.

It's very easy, and cheap, just to have the wheels/tires checked for out of round and track.

Personally, I think your concerns may not materialize.

Aluminum wheels are also lighter in weight. That's why Jayco and many competitors supply them as standard (or at least an option) on their travel trailers & 5th wheels. You might also check etrailer.com or just google "aluminum replacement wheels for" your make/model/year coach.

I was hoping someone who has done this upgrade would respond.

TBH your tires will be the only thing out of round or causing tracking issues..
the wheels and the rims are balanced together...
tracking is not associated with a wheel, tire? likely, wheel very unlikely...

Save your money... use it for gas...

I looked at the link mkassab shared and sure enough the aluminum wheels are lighter, 23lbs lighter each in fact (for the 22.5 wheels, those that fit my class c have even a less weight difference). Saving 138lbs (23x6) wouldn't justify the cost imo, I would only do it for the looks if I was to change over to aluminum. ~CA
