Battery disconnect

Installed a battery disconnect switch. Can select 1, 2, both or off. This will completely shut off power from the house batteries if need be.

I have put one in every RV we have owned. I prefer a knife switch.

I had one like that and it broke right away. Switched to a simple screw in connector for $8 off amazon.

I use them all the time in all my boats. Never had one break plus I can isolate each battery.

I also have always installed/used battery disconnect switches in my boats or RVs. I average 5-7 years battery life using Leadacid batteries.

I love these tool-free battery clamps.

1. They allow multiple positive wires to be clamped together
2. Easy to disconnect the negative terminal, i.e. switch power off
3. Easy to remove/replace battery itself for storage, service, etc.
4. Positive/negative clearly labeled and sized
5. No tools needed, clamp pressure set with thumb screw

Simple is good. Any auto parts store or Walmart sells quick easy disconnect switches.

They are a must have in my opinion. Even a small amount of parasitic drain can kill a battery in a couple of weeks.

I've had this Blue Sea Systems disconnect for 4 years, top of the line quality is why I chose this. (Electrician of 38 years)
