Big problem, birds attacking my Precept windows!

I've had my Precept back in our seasonal spot on the Ohio River just over a week and noticed a lot of bird droppings on my steps.

While there today I watched a very small bird attack the window at our dinette. He was very persistent and just kept pecking it, and of course dropping his crap down the side of the slide. Obviously this is what is happening on the passenger side also, attacking the window over the door.

Any ideas how to eliminate this problem?

They are attracted to anything shiny. I have seen covers over mirrors, tire covers to keep them from pecking and preening. Maybe some hanging bobble that's shiny to distract or discourage.

It’s Spring and he’s most likely either thinking he found a mate or a rival. We’ve had birds attacking their reflections in our windows and vehicle mirrors before. One little guy was so relentless I ended up cutting off the branch he was attacking from and he stopped (couldn’t sit there and get mad at his own reflection anymore). Devise a way to make the reflection go away or make it too hard to attack the windows.

We have a robin that attacks the garage window as well as the window of our FW. they are within a few feet of each other. He has really made a mess!

It could've been the Jayco Eagle.

I haven't had that problem yet but while we were in the Everglades in Feb. we were warned about the buzzards and crows pecking away the rubber on our truck and any visible on the FW. Found out from one of the rangers that most rubber gaskets on vehicles are made partly from fish oil and they can smell it. The people that had been down there the last several years bought a cover for their trucks. They don't go after the camper's much so I guess people don't worry about them.

I've read/heard/seen people hanging blank CD/DVD's to blow in the wind, may work.

Jimp, I have some blank cd's, I'll try that.

I cut the limbs off the tree beside my dinette window but the little dude hangs on the the tree bark and sometimes grabs the top edge of the window. He is determined, I'll give him that.

I assume anything shiny and moving will keep them away. We generally have a breeze off the river so mylar or aluminum foil strips might help.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Unhappy

LOL, We live in the woods and we've had a cardinal attack the windows on three sides of the house (but mostly one window) and the cars, has lasted for years (2015). putting carboard on the inside of the window didn't work, so then we put it on the outside (who wants to live like that?). We tried an fake owl, but don't really have a good place to put it without taping it to a window. He actually put a hole in a screen after a couple of years. I don't recall it being so bad last year (Am I just getting used to it?). Will see if he starts up this spring. I'll be interested to see what people have done to resolve this problem, short of taking up bird hunting.

We obviously haven't come up with an acceptable solution.

Our problem was a fence 4 ft. from the window of the trailer. When a bird lands there they see themselves in the window and attack, like forever, and day after day. we got the "bird spikes" which sounds ominous but they are little plastic strips with vertical wires coming off of them. Attached them all along the fence and no more problems as they can't land there and see themselves in the window. Tried the owl thing first and worked for about a couple days. I think Amazon has the bird spikes.

Rubber snakes from toy dept at Walmart work great, lay them on roof or hang with tape by the window
