brake service

We have a 2015 precept 29ul and would like to know if anyone has had problems with the brakes? we have 47000 miles on it (we travel a lot) and are wondering when we need to have the brakes inspected/serviced.

Thanks

You should at least once a year get a brake inspection. It's a complex system of moving parts that must work together in order to save your life every mile you travel down the road, around that curve or object on the road just over the hill.

An inspection is a good idea quite soon. Brakes are the sort of thing you can usually do yourself if you plan ahead and take your time.

Doing a brake check on a motorhome requires a lot of expensive equipment that most people are not going to invest in. It's best to bring it to a truck shop that has the equipment to service a truck chassis.

I missed the fact that I was in the Class A section of the forum. My experience is with smaller vehicles and trailer. Feel free to ignore me . . . .

No big deal, I have done brakes on one ton trucks and vans in my garage, the F53 chassis is not much harder. As all wheels are disc all you need to check the pads is a creeper and a flashlight, a visual check of master cylinder and lines for leaks (you 1st indication would be a loss of fluid level). On my last M/H I did my own brake service to save the $300 the shop charges for labor. You can get the pad sets from any ford dealer.
