Captain chairs

I have a 2014 Precept 31 UL and the leather on both captains chairs are peeling. The color looks like it is wearing off. I only wipe them down with clear water. The other seating is fine. Has anyone had a similar problem?

The arm rests are too high.

chairs

Had a similar problem, however we live in Arizona and I just chalked it up to HEAT. Had them recovered and no problems since, the guy that recovered ours said it was due to CHEAP material, nothing else. Paper thin (so called) leather just does not wear well.

I own a 31UL as well. 2014 My seats are doing the same thing. Captian chairs only. Just the part you sit on. No other material within the unit is doing this. Not even the back portion of the seat. Very strange. For he price of the units you would think the portion of material that will be used the most can withstand at least ten years of wear. This appears to be a non wear-n-tear issue.

If its peeling then its not real Leather its spray on leather. Real leather does not peel its a sad fact about what they call leather now. If its real leather the auto seats are coated with a sealer not color if the color and all is coming off its called Bonded leather its really just spray on leather. The stuff only has to meet a very small amount to meet the leather name. LB recliner tried doing this for awhile. Did not work out to well.

Captain chair add on cushions

Does anyone use a cushion in the captains chair. As in a ventilated one? If you do, what do you recommend?

I am aware it isn’t a true leather. (Sent with soft regards). It is supposed to be a little hardy being it will be exposed to multiple types of outdoor conditions. I’m more upset about it because the unit is only 4 years old. To soon for that to happen for a unit that cost near or at the $100,000.00 mark.
